A slightly old fashioned hotel without a lift. The rooms were neat and tidy with all the usual facilities but in mine there was no bedside table or convenient shelf making it awkward to place a clock, glass of water etc for the night. The bathroom facilities were I excellent but the view from the window was depressing. Very convenient for...

Thank you for your feedback Tom. I am sorry that you found our decor and facilities not to your taste. The Ellan Vannin is a beautiful Victorian Town House on Douglas sea front and maybe the decor isn't to everybody's taste. I feel it is more characterful than a modern concrete building that you maybe see in other City centres....

I have visited the island dozens of times and stayed in all the 'best ' hotels. But this is the only place I will stay in future. Super staff . Amazing attention to detail, And lots of little things that make it special .

Ideally located, within walking distance of the Ferry Terminal. Very friendly and committed staff,. Full breakfast with many possibilities. There is no elevator, but you can not expect that from a hotel in that price range. We had a room on the backside, no seaview , but 100 % silent ! Pleasant bar with always some people present. We were...

Stayed overnight in a beautiful room overlooking the Promenade with a superb view. The room was excellent, quite big with all sorts catered for, even down to the fine detail of chocolate 3 legs. Our breakfast in the morning was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Plenty to eat at the buffet and I would highly recommend...

Location is excellent, right in the middle of the prom. I stayed two nights in a room with a big bay window and a fab view of the sea and the quirky Tower of Refuge. The staff put delicious home made pastries in the room each day and a welcoming daily newsletter with stuff to do as well as a...

Ellan Vannin was ideal with friendly staff. We booked a ground floor suite and a single room and they were .perfect for our stay. The bar has a great view of Douglas Bay and the Tower of Refuge. A handy location on the Promenade and quite close to the Quayside. I recommend this hotel.

A good, clean, well run hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff, nice breakfast but dinner not available although management permit take-away food deliveries and provide plates etc. Very convenient to ferries, buses and trams/trains.

The Ellan Vannin looks like all the other Victorian boarding houses along the Douglas sea front, and the price was so reasonable, we expected mediocre at best. However, we found that every detail had been taken to a very high level of consideration for our comfort. The beds were 5 star, as was the breakfast, and the staff were very...

Lovely quiet room, central location, great staff (dealt with the moany older complainers really well), good breakfast, arranging the evening meals as an extra was much appreciated and was the deal breaker for the stay. Allowed us to keep the bikes in the room. Loved the milk machine for making a good cup of tea. Also, the coffee machine in...
