How wonderful to be greeted by friendly faces who show you to your lovely rooms. Genuine hosts who assist you in having a happy stay. And an excellent breakfast too. The property is on the flat from the car park and was why we chose this, my wife not being able to walk that well. Both bedroom and bathroom are of high quality and tastefully decorated, ours had a Parisienne theme. The location is great being close to the village with pubs, cafés and attractions. Also Godshill is a good location from which to see the Island. We had a very relaxing and chilled time. A great place to stay. We will be going back in future.
As a Disabled Person, easy to manoeuvre around the whole property. Room spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast amazing. For Shona and Amanda to remember Camomile Tea, Marmite and Honey at 2nd breakfast was an example of attention to detail. Unlimited Toast just added to the experience! David really appreciated the Electric Charging Point. We would definitely like to return again. Thanks ladies
We had a wonderful 5 nights at Koala Cottage. Everything you could have wanted was provided. Lovely surroundings plus Shona and Amanda were the perfect hosts. Breakfasts were lovely. I'm not a cooked breakfast fan but seriously I think Shona' boiler eggs have converted me. Amanda's fruit salad was equally scrumptious. Even the gluten free toast was lovely, so much so I've purchased that same make of bread! A perfect location for our first trip to the Isle of Wight. We will return! Thankyou Shona and Amanda.
Koala Cottage is advertised as a luxury B&B and it certainly delivers in this respect across the board. It is a little island of tranquillity nestled away in the beautiful village of Godshill that is run by Shona and Amanda who are lovely and do what they can to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Ten out of ten for location, parking, proximity to local amenities, comfort, breakfast (mmmm, those omelettes) and all the little luxuries rarely found elsewhere. My favourites were the roll top bath and the record player with an eclectic mix of vinyl. I hadn’t lowered a needle onto a long player in more than 30 years and a track on one of the records just happened to be one of the first 45’s I bought a little over 50 years ago. What a joy to hear an analogue version again with that distinctive crackle. Thank you for a wonderful holiday experience.…
This was my 5th stay at Koala Cottage & I love it! The reason I keep coming back is not just the fact that the place is beautiful, relaxing & luxurious but also because Shona & Amanda have become friends & make our stay extra special. We like the fact that you have your own suite which is separate & there are 3 suites to choose from all with the same high quality finish. This is an adult only place which suits us as there are very few places that are quite and child free. This really is my 'happy place' where I like to get away from it all & enjoy lovely scenery, walks & a great nights sleep in a beautiful environment. The breakfasts are all made using fresh locally sourced ingredients & they really set you up for the day, there is also a lovey menu to choose from if you don't fancy a full English. Nothing is too much trouble either although the facilities are so great & well thought out I would struggle to find anything to ask for! By prior arrangement an evening meal can be available for the day of arrival which we really enjoy. We also love having pre dinner drinks in the tiki bar outside taking advantage of Amanda's mixology skills. We love having a chat with Shona & Amanda too & we were lucky enough to get a visit from Sheila the elusive red squirrel. I am already planning my next trip as we had such a fabulous time…
Just returned from a 4 night break in Koala Cottage and give it top marks. Shona & Amanda are expert hosts. Breakfasts are beautifully cooked in a bright and airy extension to the main house. Rooms have been thoughtfully decorated and beds are King Size (we look out for this feature after having to sleep head to toe in a B&B a couple of years ago). Location is also very good, tucked away just behind the model village near a good choice of eating establishments. If you want to leave the car for a day, the high street is served by two regular bus routes. To get well in with Shona, just tell her you'll sign a petition to have a zebra crossing installed outside the post office.
We stayed for a week in July (I know - I thought I'd posted this review but realised I'd written it but not submitted it). Excellent accommodation, really grateful for the air conditioning as we had some very hot days. The breakfasts were truly superb. Shona and Amanda were fantastic hosts - they were always available to offer advice and guidance to help us get the most out of our stay. Really welcoming hosts and we would love to stay again. And make sure you try the cocktails!
Beautiful room; outstanding choices for breakfast, wonderfully cooked. A thoroughly professionally run business achieving friendliness combined with the highest possible standards of service and cleanliness. We cannot recommend Koala Cottage too highly.
What a fantastic place, Shona and Amanda are warm welcoming hosts always happy and look after you from the first minute you arrive. Breakfast is gorgeous, rooms are stunning and spotlessly clean. Location couldn't be better. A big thanks to you both and we will be back soon. Kev and Cath
Shona and Amanda were amazing hosts, nothing was to much and let us check in early. Room was big and the bed was very comfortable and had everything in you needed. Breakfast was lovely and the cocktails at the bar was great. They have everything down to a fine art and nothing is to much. Even got a lovely present at the end of our stay. Would highly recommend staying at this beautiful place and cannot wait to go back. Thank you for a remarkable and truly amazing experience Shona and Amanda. From Alicia and Rob.
