Excellent pub in a great location, good food and beer - not cheap but value for money. Atmosphere was great with terrific views across the bay. A good selection of real ales and very pleasant staff. Only problem was walking up the zig-zag afterwards.

Would definitely recommend the accommodation at the Spyglass. You cannot beat the wonderful views of the sea and the breakfast hamper is lovely. Its so nice to be able to cook what you like at what time. The staff are welcoming and friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. We ate at the pub on Saturday and the food was wonderful - big portions so be prepared to roll out of the place. We will definitely be back in the summer of next year :-)

Spyglass is perched atop the rocks at the end of the beach. Folks are really friendly and drinks selection good with some local entertainment performing live regularly. The food however is really disappointing. The only saving grace it had for me was that it brought back memories of a hospital canteen in a dodgy part of Scotland, which was nostalgic for all the wrong reasons. The chips, peas and (allegedly) beer battered fish was like the kind of stuff I throw together for my kids after a particularly rough day at work, only then to feel guilty about promising myself to treat them the following night.

We went here twice on our holiday to the Isle of Wight and had an amazing experience both times. The food was amazing and had beautiful views! We tried the salads which were huge and delicious, cheese burgers, fish and chips and jacket potato’s. The portions were huge and the food was amazing! We wish we’d have had the chance to go again!

Room Tip: There was a queue but it went really quick and no one was turned away. We were offered drinks...

Rolled up at 7pm with 20 people queuing ahead of us. Once seated, the service was spot on and the food as good as promised. This is a great place to have dinner. So atmospheric, with the waves lapping on the rocks below. We look forward to returning soon.
