Lovely hotel, very clean and pleasant staff. It is very near Shanklin via cliff lift and there are some beautiful olde worlde pubs and tea rooms in the Old Village. The hotel rooms are very comfortable but I did miss having soap, shampoos etc.in the bathroom. I also had to request loo roll. I would advise taking ear plugs with you as the walls are very thin, I could hear every switch activated in the room next to me and the snoring kept me awake all night. I requested an alternative room but the receptionist said all the rooms were the same. This was the only downside to my stay.
My friend and I are on a six day trip to the Shanklin Hotel with Alfa Travel and so far it's been faultless. Our driver Andy got us to the ferry early so we were unpacked and settled by the time we ate our evening meal. The hotel is spotless, my room is large and bright and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is good with lots of choice and the waiters are hard working. Our waiter, Alex, is cheerful and very helpful. There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Excellent value for money.
Just returned from six night stay in the shanklin hotel what a great little hotel on our arrival we were greeted by the lady manager nice touch went to our room which was on the ground floor loverly clean beds and nice walk in shower flat screen tv meals I would give 10 out of 10 entertainment every night except Thursday but still played bingo of which we bagged us a win all staff are very friendly our waiter was a young lad from Spain looked after us brilliantly 👏 the indoor pool was clean and very refreshing .can't really post any negative comments about the shanklin keep up the good work 👏
Stayed here on an Alfa trip. Hotel is spotless, food gorgeous, lots of great choices. waiting on staff were fab, especially Alex! Very attentive. Room was lovely, comfy and clean. Never got to use the pool as we had no time, but it looked great. Really enjoyable stay in a great location!
Wonderful hotel with excellent staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Service in dining room was superb as was the food. Five stars. Trips also fantastic as was our driver Wills. Great choice of food including vegetarian and vegan.
First time with Alfa tours we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is absolutely fabulous, rooms were very spacious and clean , all the staff made us feel so welcome. Food was great, plenty of choice and good portions all served hot by your personal waiter for the week . We will certainly be returning to the Shanklin hotel .
Went with alfa travel to this hotel for one week, Andy our driver was very good besides being an excellent driver he was very informative about all the places we visited. Never been to the isle of wight before and I'm sure we will go back again sometime, the shanklin hotel was also very good, good food and entertainment every night made our stay memorable. This was our second trip with alfa the first one was Scarborough another place we now have been to for the first time. This coming May we are off to Newquay again with alfa and if the hotel there is as good as the shanklin isle of wight and the Cumberland at Scarborough we will be very pleased.
Have just returned from 5 day break with ALFA. Had a great time. Room had lovely views. Food was very good and always hot. Our waiter Alex was friendly and very efficient. Was a nice touch that the chef came and spoke to everyone individually, not had that at other leisureplex hotels. Staff at reception were also very friendly. Entertainment was ok. As always it's nice to see Michael our driver, . Thank you all for a great stay
Stayed here with Alpha Coach Holidays for the New year, and without a doubt we had a great time here, good entertainment, food, and a great view from our room across to Culver Cliffs. We have already booked for this coming 2022 New year as it was great value for money, trip out to Cowes and Newport included Recommended and looking forward to our next visit.
Just back from christmas in this hotel. the rooms are very tired, had a bathroom with shower over the bath. just feel the whole room could have done with being ripped out and starting again, The food was not bad felt a bit underwhelmed with christmas dinner but ate it all. We went with Saffords and a very special mention to phil our driver who made the best of an itinerary that was shredded by covid. we were woken up early every morning by a banging coming from the bathroom whenever nearby rooms tuned the shower on, the hotel maintenance thought it was the heating so turned the heating off for the whole hotel but this did not solve it i think they are probably still trying to figure it out. The christmas day so called entertainment was terrible, I have never heard such a bad singer telling such bad jokes straight out of the 70's, cannot believe they paid him. Apart from this not a bad hotel just needs a bit of a overhaul. The staff are the hotels biggest assett especially the bar staff and Hollie's very memorable bingo calling!…
