Comfortable, friendly and welcoming are the words I would use to describe Foxhills. We'll situated, close but not too close to the Shanklin Beach and the old village. My best B&B breakfast ever! Lots of choices, all expertly prepared. Walkable to bus depot and rail station. Enjoy.
We have just stayed at Foxhills for 3 nights and are due to travel home tomorrow. Writing this review sitting in the beautiful garden enjoying a glass of wine. The stay here has been amazing, the location excellent with the old town about a 10 minute walk away. The hosts are incredible and nothing is too much trouble for them. They go over and above to make sure that every guest feels welcome and the breakfasts which are catered to your individual needs are extremely tasty. The rooms are spacious and comfy. When we return to the Isle of Wight, this is the only place to stay. Keep up the good work everyone!
Good location with quick access to Shanklin Village and town High Street, making eating out no more than 10 minutes walk.On site parking to front of house, always a bonus.Breakfast choices excellent, covering all tastes.Nice gardens to relax in. Eight rooms of varied size, clean and homely.Hosts very friendly and will look forward to seeing Judith,Joanne,Andrew & Robert again in the future,This was our Fourth stay in Shanklin and Foxhills was the best overall experience.
We had a lovely stay with very friendly enthusiastic hosts that made our holiday experience hard to forget. Judith, Joanne, Andrew & Robert ensured that any requests were met with ease, even providing a recipe for Joanne's Baked Bean Medley! Interior decor is beautiful, enhanced by quality up-cycled furniture. Gardens are well kept and comfortable to relax in. The hosts have a compassionate ethos regarding single use plastic and provide fresh milk daily (in our case plant based milk) in a reusable canister. Hope to see the 'resident' red squirrel on our next visit to Foxhills.
Our stay was one of pure delight. From the moment that we arrived, we were treated like family. Joanne, her sister Judith, and their husbands Andrew & Robert took over Foxhills, as their first Guest House venture just over a month ago, and we had a wonderful week. Our room was light, bright and spotlessly clean, and our freshly cooked breakfast each morning was a real treat. And how nice it was, after a day out to enjoy a relaxing drink in their pretty little garden, before setting out to one of several restaurants in the village that are easy to walk to . We'll have to book early for our next visit ! George & Judy
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed in and offered a drink which was very welcome after our journey. We were informed that the new owners had only been there for 4 weeks but what a fantastic start they have made. We were made to feel like part of the family, nothing was too much trouble and we spent late evenings in the beautiful garden chatting to Judith, Joanne, Robert and Andrew. Our room was very comfortable with everything we needed. A small, freestanding mirror was a very welcome addition to the room, as was the fan. The bed was comfortable and the room was a lovely size. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, I especially recommend the medley of beans on sour dough toast and the granola sundae. It is a well run establishment, welcoming, quiet but close enough to walk into Shanklin to enjoy all it has to offer. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome and ensuring our first visit to the island was one to remember for all the right reasons.…
The new owners - Judith, Joanne, Robert & Andrew have just recently taken over at Foxhills & have made an excellent start. Before we even got there we were made to feel very welcome. Brilliant hosts, brilliant breakfasts, brilliant hospitality. Thank you all. Fay, George, Florence & Bob.
This is a gem of a guest house, set in beautiful gardens, with easy access to all the Isle of Wight attractions but most importantly, the hosts...Judith, Rob, Joanne and Andrew, really do go the extra mile to ensure your stay with them is both relaxing and special. We stayed for 5 night's and from the welcoming cup of tea on arrival to drinks in the garden on our last evening, we felt as though we were staying with friends. Rob even gave us a lift to Pavaroti's Italian Restaurant, when we couldn't book a taxi. The extra large bed was so comfy, we were guaranteed a good nights sleep, to awaken to a wonderful breakfast, with a multitude of choices. In short, we would most definitely return again and would have no hesitation in recommending this charming old house to friends.
Lovely stay over a long weekend. Charming old house, nice room with extra large bed and a separate dressing room. Great personalised breakfast. Very comfortable place with less than 10 minutes walk to village centre. Lovely welcoming hosts. A real home away from home, highly recommended!
Stayed at Foxhills for a long weekend not expecting to be met by the new owners but what a lovely surprise you could not have wished to meet such lovely welcoming hosts, nothing was to much trouble. Excellent choice of breakfast and was even invited for drinks in the garden when we arrived back from a day out. Foxhills is a lovely big charming house with just a short walk into Shanklin. When we come back to the Isle of Wight Foxhills will be our first stop.
