Keats Cottage is a boutique accommodation offering a home from home feel. Keats Cottage is located at the top of the Old Village in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, overlooking the theatre and within a 5 minute walk of the sea. The house was named after John Keats, an English Romantic poet who stayed at this property in the summer of 1819. All the rooms are equipped with modern amenities and you can experience crisp linen, fluffy towels, homemade biscuits and Nespresso coffee machines as well as first class service. We believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you can enjoy a traditional English breakfast consisting of organic ingredients sourced from nearby farms as well as home-made jams, delicious omelettes, creamy porridge or vitamin packed fruit smoothies to name just a few options! Owners David & Ewa look forward to welcoming you to Keats Cottage.

The reason this b&b gets such great reviews is due to its genial host. No matter how busy he is, David always has time for the guests. The location of this B&B, on the main road with no parking, might initially seem quite inconvenient, but David has turned an inconvenience into a benefit by paying for your parking in the close by public car park if you stay more than 1 night. Not only do you always get a space not far away, but it also gives you free parking in other public car parks. The rooms are nicely decorated, with an eclectic mix of old and new furniture. There doesn’t appear to be any communal inside or outside space area other than the restaurant front used for breakfast. The rooms were spacious with coffee machine and water. My only gripe would be that the bed probably needed updating. It was impossible to sit up and lean on the headboard without the whole thing shaking. The mattress was sagging a bit, but despite that we still slept well. Excellent breakfast

David and his mum went the extra mile to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were very hospitable and extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean the bed was extremely comfortable which is very important to me when Im away from home and I had a brilliant nights sleep both nights. The linen was beautifully crisp and white. Fresh water and wine glasses were supplied and there was a coffee machine in the room which we didn't use. David was very helpful with arranging a car parking permit which we really appreciated. The breakfasts were delicious and there was plenty of choice. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return.

Two weeks ago my friends and I returned back to Keats Cottage. We discovered this beautiful place just before the pandemic and we were so happy to be able to return this year. Once again David, the owner, welcomed us back with a big smile and open arms and he once again spoiled us throughout our stay and made us feel like being at home. The entire place is so cosy, super clean and David's super delicious breakfast and above all his friendliness and kindness makes a stay at Keats Cottage so special. I can only recommend booking a stay there.

I stayed in The Oscar Wilde suite with my sister and it was by far the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, full of character. David made our stay really memorable with his delicious cooked breakfast and adorable sense of humour to brighten up our day. He gave us useful tips and suggestions on day trips. He was always there to lend a helping hand, going the extra mile! In the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic, it is reassuring to step into a “safe” haven . Our suite opened into the private back garden filled with beautiful fuchsias and wildflowers, a ready inspiration for a romantic poem. Thank you David for making us so welcome!!

Keats Cottage is in the high street of the Old Village Shanklin so when we arrived, at a small shop front, which looks like a café we were unsure what we would find. Next to this is a red door which is the entrance to the B & B. We were met by David who was very welcoming and jolly. He took us up to our room on the top floor which was surprisingly large, with a beamed ceiling tastefully decorated and double aspect windows with lots of light just as we like it. A complimentary g & t quickly arrived at our room. A very good start. Breakfast was served in the front of the shop and everyday the breakfast was cooked to perfection. David was also really helpful in telling us places to visit locally and he also sorted parking and free tickets to Shanklin Chine. We would certainly return again and look forward to another really pleasant stay.

First time on the Island and we started in Keats Cottage in Shanklin as it is a few that is dog friendly. The owner David is an excellent host and made you feel welcome. When we arrived he had organised a dog bed and a water bowl in our room. Odin (our dog) got a sausage for breakfast every day. Our room on the top floor was spacious with on suite, fluffy towels, TV, tea and coffee facilities with a Nespresso coffee maker and biscuits, all stocked daily. Breakfast had a virility of choices, including cooked breakfast, pancakes with several toppings and cereal and more. The holiday was over too quick and it was so sad to have to leave as it was like a home from home. Highly recommend.

Choose this B&B as a result of the many positive reviews, not disappointed. Spacious rooms, exceptionally clean, super breakfast all complimented by the owner David who is informative, helpful and a credit to his profession. Without doubt we shall stay here for our next trip to the island. A big thank you to David, Ewa and young Jack who makes great toast !

This is truly a special place made so by David, Ewa and Jack. Wonderful warm atmosphere, we were made to feel at home and comfortable right from the start. Fantastic breakfast to the point were I couldn’t squeeze in lunch ! Nothing too much trouble just ask. Room very clean and well presented. A nice poets theme running through the hotel. Great location some nice places to eat within walking distance and a nice walk to the beech. Plenty of lovely shops for my wife to fulfil her shopping addiction. So if you stay with people rather then buildings then this is the place for you. Thank you David and family we’ll see you soon ! Steve and Mandy xx

Lovely place in a great location in Shanklin. Close to the old village and seafront . The rooms are immaculate , with a generous size and all the little extras you might need. David is an excellent host , a fountain of knowledge with the local area and locations to see . Nothing is too much trouble and a complimentary drink on arrival received no grumbles from us. The breakfast is excellent with a cooked selection and buffet offering . With the car park a stones throw away , parking is no problem. We will be back with our beloved pooch who loved her stay too in one of the dog friendly rooms.
