Even before arrival they assisted us with information and help with restaurants. On arrival we were greeted by the amazing Tony, a man massively invested in his passion for his work. He gave us maps and brochures with loads of helpful guidance on places to visit. He left our bags to the side whilst we had his signature briefing. On return they had already been delivered to our room by the invisible Jo. The room was beautiful and superbly appointed. Lovely shower and stunning views. Right on the seafront, but as the road goes nowhere in one direction there is little traffic. Breakfast is a thing of pure beauty, lots of options. Not least Jo's "specials". Hard to choose but I'm a traditionalist re breakfasts. The full English was stacked with quality ingredients nothing cheap to make them money. You will not leave hungry! Make sure you take Jo!'s freshly cooked pastries with you! At breakfast we got to meet her too. No less passion for her craft. Nothing to criticise much to laud!…
Wow - what a fantastic find - superb location with amazing hosts in Andy and Jo - only stayed a couple of nights but so could have stayed longer - a great base for touring the island and lovely rooms with great views of the bay- had read some comments about do not miss breakfast and can certainly agree with that - all food is fresh cooked to order and using local produce - choice is great with daily specials and all so tasty - even option to have take away pastries to have during your day out - and these are fresh baked to order - both hosts are from island and great for sources of info on where to visit and where to eat - will certainly return and cannot recommend highly enough
We’ve just got back from a 3 night break and would definitely recommend this place. When we arrived and parked our car, Andy came out to welcome us and take our luggage. He then gave us a local map and told us all the places worth a visit, whilst Jo took our luggage to our room. Our room was very large & had it’s own private balcony overlooking Shanklin beach and most importantly it was spotless. There’s tea & coffee in the room, with a mini fridge containing fresh milk and water which are replenished daily. Breakfast was really tasty and made to order, beautifully presented with specials every day and thick cut toast and home made jam, and afterwards there are fresh baked pastries to take away. This place is definitely worth a visit. Thanks again Jo and Andy for your hospitality!…
We had a text from the Shoreside inn informing us our room was ready for us and as we parked in the car park we were greeted by Andy, one half of what makes the Shoreside Inn tick! Andy carried our bags in and we were introduced to the other half of the Shoreside, Andy's wife Jo. After a brief intro to breakfast and possible places to eat out Andy showed us to our room, we had chosen one of the balcony rooms at the top of the house, a large double room with a comfy double bed, two seater settee and a commanding view of the street and the open water of the English Channel. The room offered a good size walk in shower with rain drop shower head and smaller spray and separate toilet room. The room was immaculately clean, in fact the every where in the building was immaculately clean. Breakfast was superb offering typical full English or a choice of things. Jo had prepared a fresh fruit salad which I had with a fruit yogurt as well as a full English! Coffee and juices were offered we certainly didn't go hungry and then we were offered some Danish pastries to take away with us! Andy is the face of the Shoreside, Jo is the engine, both non fussy and happy to do all to make you feel welcome. One nice touch was having a small fridge in the room which was kept topped up with fresh milk and water, a great idea, it also housed a beer and a bottle of Rose...we supplied that! There is a good chance we will return here. An excellent place.…
From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, Andy and Jo couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable. The accommodation itself is amazing and in the perfect location. The breakfast is of restaurant quality and some of the best food we had the whole trip. Would recommend to anyone to stay here, one of the best places we've stayed and would 100% go back! Thanks Andy & Jo
We've just got back from a short winter's break, it was perfect as usual. There is no place better, the rooms are large, beautiful and spotlessly clean, with large work in showers. They have tea and coffee making facilities with a mini fridge and and milk is replenished daily. Breakfast is made to order and is delicious, and afterwards there are freshly baked pastries. Jo and Andy are perfect hosts and very knowledgeable about places to visit and eat, there is nothing more I can say that isn't in my previous reviews, this to us is the best place on earth
Andy & Jo are simply the perfect hosts! So welcoming, lots of lovely local recommendations & the most fabulous breakfast with delicious local & homemade produce. Our lovely big room was immaculate & such a big comfy bed! Highly recommended
Have just returned from 5 nights at the Shoreside Inn. The owners Andy & Jo were fantastic hosts, from helping carry the luggage, recommending the best restaurants, and places to visit. The breakfasts were amazing, as was the housekeeping, cleanliness, and the quality of the accommodation. Our ground floor room was very spacious with a sea view, nicely decorated, had its own veranda, a large walk in shower, a mini fridge, and a super king bed. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this boutique accommodation to anyone.
Please believe every one of the wonderful reviews that you read about the Shoreside Inn on Trip Advisor - they are all absolutely true! We are so pleased to have discovered this absolute gem in Shanklin – excellent location on the seafront, a warm and friendly welcome, exceptional customer service, clean and modern bedrooms and wonderful breakfasts! It was all perfect and we could not have asked for more. However, for us, what really makes this hotel a cut above the rest were the little extras and additional personal touches from the owners, Andy and Jo, that we were really not expecting – the text on our first day to say our room was ready for when we wanted to arrive, the warm and friendly greeting from Andy in the car park, the fresh milk and bottled water in our own personal fridge that was replenished daily, the breakfast specials each day and of course Jo’s wonderful pastries, which we were offered every day to take-away. Thank you, Andy and Jo for making our stay so very special- all of the accolades you receive are fully deserved! We will definitely not be leaving it too long before we return and will be recommending the Shoreside Inn to all of our family and friends.…
We have just spent 5 days at the Shoreside Inn, from our arrival we were warmly welcomed by the hosts Andy & Jo. The room was large and well fitted out down to the packet of sweets which was a lovely surprise. The breakfast was everything you would expect but there was more, the daily specials were delicious and the additional pastries to take away in your own bag. Both Andy & Jo made you feel welcome and were at hand to offer advise about the Island. There was a good selection of restaurants within a 1/2 mile walk so you didn’t have to eat the same type meal everyday. I would highly recommend this property to visitors to the area.
