There was a wedding happening whilst we were there so consequently when we arrived there were empty bottles and full ashtrays outside reception. The breakfast is only served till 9:00/9:30 and this was frustrating as we were on our holiday and wanted a lie in...or breakfast in bed (which they didn't offer). The people above our room must have been... More

I booked this hotel for a business trip which turned into a short stay as at the last minute I was joined by my wife, We both found the staff really helpful when the stay needed to be extended. Peter who we both got chatting to when booking a table had a wicked sense of humor and made the stay... More

The house must once have been magnificent, it just needs some love and attention. Room sizes are reasonable but dark. Too much furniture makes manovering around the beds to find plug sockets difficult. Heavy anaglypta on the walls and dark borders are very claustrophobic. As to my Like Faulty Towers, some rooms have a sea view, they might but you... More

It's as if I stayed in a different hotel to all these reviews on here. I booked for a two night stay and I have little positives to say. The room was poorly cleaned, the cupboard door was off it rails / broken. The shower was not up not up to much. Maintenance was called as the toilet blocked. Basically... More

I booked for a weekend away for my partners birthday. We were warmly welcomed and directed to the room. The room was clean and tidy yet dated, very hard bed and poor shower, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bottles were half full and the toilet roll/paper was cheap. Having said this everything else was good pool area was great, and... More

I booked a one night stay at the Bourne Hall for my partner and I, as it was our anniversary. I went through the website Booking.com, which was offering a one night stay for 2 people in a double room, with breakfast for £55. Excellent! However once I had filled out the forms and clicked "book", it came up saying... More

The only downside is how far it is from the town. Unless you are very fit it is quite a hike and up a couple of very steep hills. Breakfast was excellent. Full English or continental. Staff were very friendly
