I have stayed 4 times now and hope to return many more times. Fantastic place to stay with amazing hosts Boz and Clare. Freshly cooked breakfast of your choice (also dietary requests catered for) The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with plenty of storage space, good lighting, and heating(when needed) . There is a licensed lounge which is very comfortable with a TV, games, and books available. The location in Shanklin Old Village couldn't be better with on-site parking and within walking distance to many local restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. A few minutes walk and you are at the cliff path where there is a lift to the beach . The bus stop is just around the corner. Boz and Clare are so friendly and helpful. They have a fantastic knowledge of the Island through personal experience. I always feel like I am going back to stay with friends Boz and Clare make time to chat to their guests either about their holiday or just life experiences. If you don't choose The Braemar you are missing a gem

I've stayed here 3 times now and always have a great time. The owners Boz and Claire are really great hosts and make the stay even more enjoyable with their wit and friendliness. Rooms are comfortable, all on suite, clean and fresh. Breakfast is the best you can get, cooked by Boz and you can order night before what you want, even vegetarian sausages. There's a car park out the back of the property for residents. This place is in a side road just off the main road and you are walking distance from all the local pubs, bars and restaurants. Looking forward to staying again next year.

This good sized guest house has such friendly owners who are definitely 100% dog friendly ! They made such an effort to ensure our comfort and the breakfast was fabulous . The house is right in the middle of Old Shanklin which is so pictuesque. We had a,dog friendly room which was clean and beds were very comfy. This was our first visit to IOW and we only had a couple of nights so we were keen to find out the best places to go round Shanklin. Boz and Clare gave us advice on this and came to chat to us each morning at breakfast. All in all a lovely place to stay ( loved the sundeck) ! We will definitely return .

You would struggle to find a better place to stay than this with this budget. Claire and Boz, the owners are excellent hosts. It was clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. Apparently l am the only one who had apricot jam, so any one staying there ,leave it alone as we will be going back. Lol

Great ! Spotlessly clean. Boz and Claire couldn’t have been more helpful from the moment we checked in to the moment we said our goodbyes. They were amazing hosts. We travelled by motorbike and they even went out if their way to ensure bike was secure and dry when the weather looked like it was going to turn. Fast internet and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely return and recommend. Great location.

I first visited Boz and Claire at the Braemar in October 2019 shortly after they took over. This was my first return visit. They sorted a great deal inclusive of ferry price at short notice. The room was beautifully presented with a welcome message and as before they couldn't be more helpful and freindly. Excellent cooked breakfast or a range of lighter options. Nice to see that my original review is still posted which gives confidence that all the reviews are genuine. I really enjoyed my first visit and felt that the hotel is now much more homely than before with some new carpets, TV's, beds and improved decoration and soft furnishings. This hotel is in an great location with a private car park and surrounded by a wide range of pubs, cafes, restaurants, take aways and shops. Only a short walk to either the clifftop, steps down to the beach and seafront, bus stop, new or old towns. I would automatically consider the Braemar for future trips to the Isle of Wight as it has everything I would want in a small traditional seaside hotel but it is made special by Boz and Claire the proprietors.
