We were lucky enough to find the fabulous Hambledon Hotel and experience a very enjoyable 3 night stay. It was our first visit to the island and we feel that we couldn’t have found a better establishment. This place is an absolute gem! Good location, just a short walk to the gardens, old town and sea front. Spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard with lots of little finishing touches. Our welcome after a long journey was so friendly and accompanied by a very refreshing drink. There was a very good selection of delicious home cooked meals, all freshly prepared and all excellent! Breakfast was also cooked to perfection which definatley set us up for the day. Being able to make one booking and have the ferry also booked was so convenient. We would like to thank you both for making us feel so very welcome during our stay, you are both very attentive and lovely hosts. We look forward to staying with you again in the future, Maria & Tom (so sorry for the delay in writing our review!)

Hotel's Favourite
Just returned from 10 nights staying at the Hambledon hotel. Bill & Jackie have again made it a pleasurable holiday for us. We stay B&B, the breakfast choice is great & really sets you up for the day whether your visiting the beautiful sandy beaches that are a 5 minute walk or going out exploring this beautiful island. The bedrooms are all en-suite with tea & coffee making facilities, comfortable beds, a tv & free Wi-Fi, there’s a well stocked bar to have a drink before dinner, to meet up with other guests in the evening or sit quietly in the comfortable lounge. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Bill is very knowledgeable about the island & will happily give directions to places that are not usually found by holiday makers. We have already booked up again for next year & I would recommend anyone wanting to book to do it as it gets booked up very quickly. Thank you to Bill, Jackie & your wonderful staff for another great holiday.,

Just returned from a fabulous break at The Hambledon. Always a warm welcome from Bill and Jackie who are such a hard working lovely couple and their staff. Excellent food, home cooked and great location. Very central for the many attractions The Isle of Wight has to offer by car or by the bus with a excellent timetable to reach all parts of the island. Ferry inclusive break and car park. Always a pleasure to return as just like home from home!

We have stayed here many times. Bill and Jackie are the perfect hosts. Comfortable rooms, great food and a well stocked bar. What more can you ask for! Family rooms are available and all rooms are a good size. Our 6 year old loves playing games in the lounge in the evening especially when she beats Bill! The Hambledon is in the perfect location for exploring Shanklin and the whole of the Island. We love staying here and have already booked for next year. We can't wait to go back. Thanks to Bill and Jackie for another wonderful stay.

Yet another super family holiday!! Bill and Jackie are always a joy to stay with, from the lovely rooms to the warm welcome and fabulous food (Thank you Jackie!), we always have the best holiday. Bill knows every inch of the island and has pointed us in the direction of a good walk off the beaten track, or a little cove which isn't included in most visitors guides, they're little gems which we wouldn't find otherwise. Thank you both and all your lovely staff, we look forward to seeing you again soon

Had another wonderful family holiday along with friends we have made over the years at the Hambledon Hotel, brilliant as always. This is the 18th year we have been and although our children are now fully grown they still want to go to the Hambledon on holiday. Bill and Jackie provide an exceptional service, always clean and tidy with fantastic rooms, fantastic food and wonderful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Set in a wonderful location the Hambledon is the ideal destination for young families aswell as couples of any age. It is only a short walk from the beach, town and old village. Everything is within easy reach. Thank you Bill and Jackie for a wonderful holiday already booked for next summer.

Just returned home from yet another amazing stay here. Bill, Jackie and all the staff are happy, friendly and make you feel right at home. We stayed B&B and I cannot fault the breakfast at all, it is delicious with plenty of choice. The bedrooms are a light and spacious, with very comfortable beds. The location is close to the beach, town, bus and train stops so you have easy access to the whole island. We cannot wait to return next year.

We have just returned from another week at The Hambledon Hotel and the wonderful owners, Bill and Jackie, have again provided a ‘home from home’. The rooms are bright, comfortable, en suite and have tv and tea and coffee making facilities. The dinner and breakfast ‘gong’ are an amusing throwback to times past. Shanklin has lovely beaches which are a short walk away from the hotel as is the picturesque old village and the Chine. With bus and train connections it is a great place to stay when exploring the island. We will be returning to the Hambledon Hotel next year, and highly recommend a stay when visiting the island.

Just returned from a week at the Hambledon and had a great stay. Bill and Jackie are friendly, accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food, homely, clean bedrooms and perfect location for venturing out and Bill is very knowledgable about the island if you need assistance planning trips. Children are more than welcome and catered for off their own menu if needed. As a bonus the owners can arrange you’re ferry to suit your times to save you the hassle of booking separate. If you’re thinking of booking here……. Go for it. You won’t be disappointed.
