Terrible bed with broken springs. Stained carpet and bad lighting. Basin slow draining. Have stayed before and other rooms have been better. Staff and service otherwise friendly and good. The pool facilities are good.

Dear iona k, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with regards to your recent visit to the Hotel. I am sorry that the bed was not to your liking. Plenty of parking, noisy near by traffic. Good pool and gym. Bit of a hike into town. About 30mins walk. Room like travelodge. Staff pleasant enough. Breakfast is extra and not very good, served in the leisure centre cafe. A reasonable pub nearby called the Belmont .

Never stayed at a Bannatyne hotel before, first impressions when we drove up were good, looked like quite a new building and everywhere was clean and well presented. When we checked in we were given a room which was exactly what we asked for first time (double room, not on ground level, facing away from the motorway) so we were...

Very basic accommodation rooms are far more dated than the building appears. Great if you want accommodation only but lack of facilities make this a poor choice for getting food nearby. The gym - which is in a separate building next door, offers some food choices and guests get free access to facilities. Free wifi although very slow. If you...

Picked hotel for the swimming pool and spa bits and it was ok not brilliant. Beware of the steps and take a £1 for the lockers as it says they are free on the website. Beds were comfy even if it was two singles pushed together. I got a brand new pillow from reception in bag still as needed an...

Fitted the bill perfectly for an overnight stop travelling on A1M. Convenient for motorway and Durham's attractions etc., easy to find, motel style, good (well lit) ample parking area, 24 hour front desk, modern and roomy accommodation helped by pleasant efficient staff at hotel and adjacent fitness centre. Sign in there, to gain free access to facilities including a decent...

I gave 2 stars as the staff were very friendly and welcoming - if it weren't for them, it would have been one. Also, the bathroom was clean.
