Stayed here for 1 night and was surprised at everything about it really. Clean, hospitable, comfy and helpful staff. We stayed in the second part which is located at the back of the main building and it seemed modern and light. The rooms were cool considering the temperature and we heard no noise at all from any of the guests...

This hotel is great for the disabled too, and one can park near to the disabled rooms. The hotel `likes` dogs too, which was great as we had our little dog Molly with us. The staff are wonderful, and could not do enough for us. They changed the bed from one large bed to two single ones, as this is...

Just been for a 2 night stay here after reading its good reviews and handy location for Durham city centre. I've rated this with 2 stars instead of 1 as it does have a couple of redeeming features. The staff on a whole are very pleasant, it's free parking and in a handy location. However, the rooms are very unclean...

We came with another couple for a !ovely mid week break.. The rooms were clean and bright. The receptionist was welcoming and gave us two really nice rooms in the annexe plus free parking. If you are unfit this hotel is half a mile away from Durham and on the way back its uphill! I am not the fittest of...

Hotel has plenty of free parking. In the city a good selection of boutiques. Not great if you're looking for shopping centre. Recommend visiting Gala Cinema and Theatre on Sunday evening. Cinema tickets about £7 per adult. Lovely evening meal at Tia's Mexican restaurant on Claypath. Lively and loud atmosphere. Lunch try Nine Alters, Silver Street, beside the river. A...

We were given a warm welcome and our room was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep. The only downside was the absence of a lift in the annexe, but this inconvenience was far outweighed by the benefits of a reasonably priced stay close to the centre of the city.

When you first think of a Travelodge you might simply consider that it is a cheap 'n cheerful option with few facilities, but when you consider this one in Durham it's perhaps worth looking at it a bit more critically. In my view, this is probably the best value hotel in Durham, particularly if you are driving - and here...

You can have your cup of tea ensuite although there is no dining room as in an ordinary hotel and we usually bought nice sweets in town. But is is clean and tidy, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is complete. The room was large for three people and the best thing is that it is very near the...
