A great hideaway hotel a few minutes from Durham City centre. Lovely staff, very friendly, and accommodation and food are great. All newly refurbished. Will recommend this hotel to friends and we will investigate other hotels in the group.

Bev didn't travel on this occasion as she took the Grandchildren to Morcambe, but my two step-sons did. The reason for our stay was the fact we had tickets for the 'Magic Weekend', in Newcastle. (Rugby League 6 games over the Sat, and Sun.) How very, very, lucky we were that I booked this Hotel, as our accommodation base. We...

We called in after walking ours dogs as it had been recommended to us as being very dog friendly. We were not disappointed. Our dogs were welcomed in with treats and water. We loved the atmosphere so much that we decided to also order food. The food was fabulous. After deciding to treat ourselves (with it being our wedding anniversary)...

The staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is great! The Kingslodge is steps from the train station, and 12 min walk from Durham Castle and Cathedral. It's a great place to stay!

What a wonderful hidden little gem. Located 5 mins walk from Durham City Train station and 10 mins from the City Centre you wouldn't believe that you were in a city centre, more like a rural village somewhere, with its beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed a drink in the lovely beer garden catching the afternoon sun. We moved inside for a...

We were told that the hotel had just reopened after an upgrade. The restaurant and bar was very nice, food served in big portions. Breakfast could have been improved by offering yoghurts that were not low fat !! The staff only too happy to help. The room was spacious and warm (something one does not find very ofen in the...

This pub has been beautifully renovated and the food was very good with reasonable prices however service was poor. By this i'm not getting at the staff as they were attentive and friendly but unfortunately the length of time we waited for food was ridiculous and wasn't even busy! We were compensated with a free round of drinks but had...

Just popped back to Durham for a quick one night stay on business. Had to stay at the kingslodge as its always been my favourite place. We heard that they have new owners and we were very interested to see what changes were made. Was a bit aprehensive as the old owners were really very nice people and many times...

We are a little short of good eateries in Durham City at present so we were quite exited at the opening of the revamped Kings Lodge with "delicious home cooked food created by our talented kitchen team" Wow I think the team were having a night off on their opening night!
