I have stayed here twice now and found the staff to be welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere friendly and relaxed and the food excellent- especially the breakfasts. Would recommend and will come back again for work and leisure.
Excellent location close to the city. Friendly staff and good service. Food at breakfast and in bar really good. Breakfast sets up for day. Linen changed daily and room clean. Room hot on arrival but just turned down radiator valve to personal temperature choice. Slept really well!
We were in Durham to watch our granddaughter in a school production at the Gala theatre. The inn was very nice, the staff friendly, the food was very good and varied. We enjoyed the breakfast very much, nice choices. Would stay here again when visiting family.
Wonderful location for visitors to Cathedral. Also very easy to get to rail station. Very pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. We thorougly enjoyed our three night stay. Also very nice breakfast to be had.
We have stayed here before and found it convenient for the town centre and it has a car park. However, this time we were disappointed. The room decor was very drab and the room badly lit. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful but one person was particularly unhelpful and surly which gave us a bad impression. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked, although on one morning some items were running out. The cleaning of the dining room needs attention as there were crumbs on tables and the floor which remained there for two days. We were surprised that the bar closed at 11pm even for residents.
Nearby the train station in Durham, easy to go to city centre, the high street, Durham Cathdral etc. Very friendly staff there, tight but clean rooms, big bar and restaurant, efficient service and excellent breakfast.
Staff were very good - helpful and friendly. Room disappointing as we stayed 3 nights and our room did not have enough space for us and our cases etc. Few of the rooms are bigger, but a lot of space was taken up with a short corridor. Friends staying only 1 night next door, had a slightly bigger room but the space was much better organised. Meals were ok but we did not get the vegetables promised on the menu, but did not discover this until we were leaving. Breakfast very good though.
Very friendly and efficient team who made us and our dogs welcome and comfortable Perfect location within walking distance of the city centre and right next to a nature reserve ideal for dog walks Food and service was very good
We wanted somewhere close to the city centre but in a quiet area and that’s exactly what we got. A relaxing break in a city that we love. We’d booked a meal elsewhere in advance and another time we’d like to eat at the inn’s restaurant. Thank you to the staff at Kingslodge for being so helpful and welcoming.
Stayed here feb 3rd-5th for just a weekend break away absolutely amazing stay, quiet but still not far from the town, great breakfast husband was extremely happy with that, very clean rooms & lovely staff all staff spoke to us, if I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you for a wonderful stay would definitely come back here again. Mr & Mrs Lewis
