Whilst this Hotel is located in a building dating back to 1620 in the ownership of a Spanish Merchant. It's charmingly up to date with the needs of the modern visitor. Comfortable, warm and very welcoming as is the staff.

Stayed here the last weekend of January. Lovely room and breakfast, helpful staff, clean, well maintained and great experience of the town. Situated right in the centre of the town, so as expected can get a little noisy in the evening. Car park a 50 yrd walking ditance from hotel, spaces hit or miss. Used their sister home for their...

We have come here occasionally for business and pleasure and have always enjoyed our stay. Recently refurbished accommodation has brought this hotel up to a modern light and airy place to be as a resident and occasion coffee/dining daily visitor. Accommodation and dining is first class and of a very high standard, informal surroundings and attentive staff.

My partner and I had been invited to a wedding so decided to make a weekend of it and this is the hotel we chose. The pictures on the website looked beautiful, we chose a traditional room for 2 nights and we're excited for our romantic weekend away. Upon arriving, we realised that this hotel was on a busy high...

We always love coming here and can't fault the accommodation or dining. Breakfast is good, dinner likewise and the situation is perfect, right in the centre of Barnstaple which has a lot to offer and, of course, the ideal base to explore this stunning area

The hotel staff did a great job looking after a group of 40 of us for a birthday weekend. The evening carvery catered for for over 140 people in total (many groups); the staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast and other events were also superbly managed.

Just returned from this wonderful hotel where we spent two very pleasant nights. The staff were all very efficient and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed here a few years ago so knew what to expect. I'm certain we will return again in the not too distant future. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel has recently been/is being updated. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had 2 rooms, one you could tell had been recently updated and was very sumptious with a sparkly bathroom, and lovely comfy bed. The second room was a bit more dated however, was still very comfortable with a large clean bathroom. The bistro next door...
