Fair Rigg is around a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Bowness, doesn't feel long at all and is a lovely walk! Our room (room 2) was absolutely beautiful and the detail in the furnishings really made it. The room was spotless and the bed was really comfy! Especially loved the detail in the mints, bottle of water, mini...

We recently visited the Lake District and found this wonderful guest house. The location is ideal as it's far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Bowness and Windemere but within easy walking distance, leaving the car on Fair Riggs own car park. The room was spotlessly clean and of a generous size with fantastic views and many period...

Found this bed and breakfast comfortable and the current owners friendly and helpful. The room, which is room 1 on the website was clean, towels nice with excellent hot water and quiet. We enjoyed being able to open the windows, get fresh air and enjoy the views. Parking was convenient as was wifi, and its location just out of town...

Thank you for this review, we're really glad that you enjoyed our fabulous location, clean and comfortable rooms, hot water and views. With regards to the bed size, the bed in Room 1 is a UK King Size bed, I suspect that different countries have different definitions which may be the cause of the confusion here. As you say it...

Christine and Richard are friendly, helpful, and cheerful, providing a squeaky clean house with beautiful furnishings. Our 3rd floor view was of a cow pasture and parts of Lake Windermere -- just beautiful. The breakfast room felt like a fancy English Tea Room, and Christine's cooking was fabulous, even including vegetarian sausage. On request, our hosts provided a heating pad,...

Recently, my daughter and I visited the Lake District from Japan. Everything was perfect !!! Christine and Richard are the perfect host. We could experience the best English hospitality. The room we stayed in was clean and so comfortable that we could soon be rid of our jet lag. The breakfast they served us, dispelled all notions of the rumors...

Thank you so much for this great review, it was lovely to meet you and your daughter, I'm pleased that we were able to dispel some of the myths about English food too! We firmly believe in using high quality ingredients, sourced as locally as possible, this ensures the freshness of the produce and also contributes to the local economy.

We visited Fair Rigg in June for our now 3rd stay. We would not go anywhere else here as everything is just great. Great room on 1st floor with views to the lake and hills. A loo with a view too..The owners were wonderful people. Love everything about Fair Rigg.

We loved staying here. The location is so convenient that you never have to drive far to visit the highlights in the Lake District and driving to the ferry in Hull is approx. 3 hours, which is fine. We loved the ensuite room, with view over the lake in which you feel at home and is very clean. The owners...

First time in the Lakes, on our bucket list. Surprisingly good drive from Romford to Cumbria, 5 hours driving 284 miles! Couldn't be more impressed with Fair Rigg, under new management of Christine and Richard, warm, friendly and helpful hosts, excellent generous size room with all facilities for a comfortable stay (room 5, top floor, amazing view). Breakfast was a...

The Fair Rigg is a gem. The room (5) and en-suite bathroom (shower not bath) were a good size and included a sofa and coffee table. The view from the window was wonderful. The full English breakfast was excellent but they also catered for those who prefer the 'continental' or had special dietary needs. There were some nice touches too....

We are regular visitors to Bowness and decided to stay at this guesthouse after reading the other great reviews on trip advisor. The guesthouse itself is lovely and in a nice location just outside the centre only a 15 minute walk but it was only £4 in a taxi so we could get into the centre easily in the evening....

Hi Chantelle and thanks very much for your great review, it was lovely to meet you and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, as you say we are close enough to Bowness to access the great restaurants bars and coffee shops but far enough away to avoid the late night noise.
