2 perfect nights. One would have to be a very cantankerous curmudgeon not to be completely charmed by this Hotel. We arrived at the driveway in a heavy snow storm, our car could not make the hill up to the Hotel and the staff made valliant and eventually successful efforts to get us to the door where our welcome was...

Yes, the snow has been a challenge for Andy and his team and as you wrote they tackled it valiantly. But the show must go on.... We hope to welcome you back again soon, Many thanks Mike Bevans

We just had another lovely stay at Linthwaite and even awoke to a snow dusted Lake Windermere one day! We had a preferred room, in the eves with plenty of light (two skylights and a window overlooking the croquet lawn and woodland beyond). We were able to keep the room at a perfect temperature for us, thanks to a thermostatically...

Many thanks for your kind comments. I am delighted you mention the names not numbers thing about how we communicate with guests. I love to be called by my name especially when staying at a hotel or in a restaurant (I'm not a Sir); don't we all? We hope to be able to welcome you back again soon, Kind regards...

We've just returned from our third stay at Linthwaite and have always enjoyed it. We got engaged there in 2008 and have had two subsequent stays, all on special offer rates (either half price or dine free) and have always dined at the hotel. The drinks and food are quite expensive but are excellent and on these rates we feel...

Many thanks for your kind review again and the comment you make about as being not cheap is true, but as you point out you pay for what you get! We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the not too distant future, Yours Mike Bevans

Stayed for one very luxurious night in room 21, which has the outdoor hot tub! What a stunning setting with views from our room and from the hot tub down to Lake Windermere. The snow was falling heavily on our arrival but it just made the location look all the more beautiful! We just couldn't find fault with this hotel......

Oh the combination of outdoor private hot tub and snow falling; what magic! Well I reckon a hot tub is good anytime. We are putting another one in this week by the way, the one we have has been so popular. Delighted you enjoyed your stay, We hope to be able to welcome you back again, Yours Mike Bevans

If you are looking for somewhere for a quiet break with excellent accommodation and food look no further. It even has its own small Lake in its grounds with amazing views. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the ambience is perfect for a short break. Also, look at their excellent offers. We will be back - for...

5th time! Brilliant. And of course there is the proof of the pudding. Many come back again and again. Mr & Mrs 'G' came back the other day, and they've been coming for longer than we've had the hotel (23 years in July). It's truly a home from home for many. Long may it continue, Many thanks for the review,...

A lovely afternoon spent with family (including two toddlers). The Hotel catered for our party beautifully and served us a delicious Afternoon Tea - topped with a glass of Champagne. There really isn't much I can add to this review as the Hotel and its staff are obviously used to providing a very high standard of food and service and...

Ah yes a very civilised way of spending Sunday, or for that matter any afternoon of the week. Afternoon tea is very popular and please book to avoid disappointment as we limit the availability. Come back soon! Kind regards Mike Bevans

This really is a superb hotel with everything you would expect from a luxury hotel and you very quickly feel at home here from the moment you arrive. It is unpretensious yet the attention to detail is wonderful and did not go unnoticed. The food was really good although perhaps a little fussy for us but still of the highest...

We walked into the Linthwaite and it was like walking into a good friends lounge. We were greeted by a roaring fire and a very warm welcome. The staff did not want us struggling with cases and were very keen to provide as much useful information as they could. When we were shown to our room it was very pleasant,...

Having stayed at Linthwaite for our honeymoon in October I was highly delighted when my husband suggested a trip back there for afternoon tea for my birthday yesterday.
