Stayed in the family room (12) for one night recently, whilst the hotel itself was in a great location and nicely decorated unfortunately the manager let our stay down. When we arrived there was nobody at reception and so the waiter gave us our room key, when we went to the room that wasn't ready the manager was very rude...

We both enjoyed our stay very much, the hotel was very clean, the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. Ideally situated for all local amenities as well. We'll certainly be staying there again soon.

Prefect spot..on main road between Windermere and Bowness..literally minutes walk down to the town. Hotel was lovely, rooms were very pretty, kind of shabby chic. WIFI wasn't great BUT to be fair that is the Lake District in general! Breakfast was typical full English but lovely. The manageress/owner was very pleasant, as was David who took our booking and remembered...

Hotel is a little tired and needs some updating. Our room was quite small but this was due to the fact that we needed a room with a bath for our young grandson.......also as we were having breakfast with "Peter Rabbit " therefore didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on breakfast. It was ok for one night but...

Rooms were clean, bright and nicely presented. Breakfast was great, with a good choice of cereal and cooked foods. The staff and new owner Tracey were brilliant, extremely...

Couldn't have asked for a better located hotel when staying in Bowness-on-Windermere! The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from lots of bars, restaurants and shops and about 5-10 minute drive from places like Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere. The hotel itself was great, very welcoming and the staff were brilliant. The rooms were perfect; nice, big, comfy bed. Full English breakfast...

We stayed here for two nights on a very busy weekend for Bowness. The room was lovely, the location is perfect and the staff were fantastic. David was excellent at offering recommendations and we took him up on his suggestion of the Flying Pig. It was brilliant, great food and great beer. The breakfast was superb, not too much food...

We have stayed at the White Lodge in 2014 when it was under different management. We can honestly say that we have experienced the same high standard this weekend for our 10th wedding anniversary with our 2 1/2 year old. The breakfast is plentiful and well cooked. The room is beautiful. Tracey and her team have been fantastic throughout and...
