We stayed here for one night - it was £100 B&B, I thought that was very expensive. I think you pay for the location. It is close to everything. I think the hotel is really geared up for the older clientele with us probably being the youngest people there. I didn't see any young families or other younger couples. The...

Good quality food at reasonable prices. Unfortunately only one real ale but that was the best pint of Doom Bar I've had. Can get a bit crowded in high season, but that has to be expected as it is a popular watering hole

We were looking for a hotel that catered for people with mobility issues, we were not disappointed. A good quality lift was available and the staff went out of their way to cater for every need. The bars and entertainment were first class, although lacking a TV lounge, as I wanted to watch the Euro soccer matches. We only booked...

The hotel is situated in the middle of the town and next to the harbour, which is ideal for shopping and eating out. The hotel is clean with excellent food and service, clean rooms and polite staff. The rooms could do with an update but all round it was great value for the money

The outside appearance looks dour and in need of a makeover. However, I must say that the position of the hotel is great. You are within walking distance of the harbour, the beach and the town. You can also take an early morning stroll to pick up a newspaper just a few paces from the hotel .The decor of the...

We were a party of 35 Bowlers from Barnstaple North Devon staying at the Crown Hotel for 2 nights whilst on a mini tour. The hotel could not be more central to the town centre as well as being adjacent to the 'lifting' bride over the river/estuary.. It was warm, clean and the staff were great. I had a single...

My room over looked the side street adjacent to the hotel. The window in the room was a wooden sash style single glazed window frame. Motor bikes and young revellers in the side street prevented any sleep until around 2am every night !.
