we went for a five day Christmas break & had a lovely time. our room was very spacious and bright and clean. the staff were lovely and very obliging. The entertainment was varied with quizzes, bingo & live music, the duo were especially good. There was a decent choice of food and extra if you wanted it.

Have just returned from New Year at the Berkley. It wasn't as bad as some reviewers had written, but it did have a few bad points. Our room 303 reminded me of a prison cell, two steel framed beds, two chairs,a wardrobe with three draws, you had to stand on a chair to hang your clothes up.The walls were bare, not a picture in sight, very depressing, but it...

Overall the hotel could do with good makeover as the rooms are a little dated, the room we we allocated had very poor heating,in fact the heating would go off at at night and not come on till 7.00 in the morning and the the room got very cold at night.The...

We came here on a coach trip for "Turkey and Tinsel". Stayed here 2 years ago and it was OK. This year was pretty dismal. Good points: barman very pleasant, food adequate, room clean. Bad points: staff in dining room may have worn white gloves but their people skills were abysmal. They were quite rude and unhelpful. However, they were...

This is one of the few hotels were the toast is freshly made and served hot. How nice it was that the waitress staff all wore white gloves, as the plates were hot. I have read that...

Stayed here for a long weekend with a coach trip. The rooms were tired and needed some maintenance. The corridors were very uneven. The woman on the reception was very pleasant and helpful. The food was awful, served in the dining room like a school cafeteria. All the food was processed frozen and of the lowest standard and cheapest they...
