Had one night here en route to Edinburgh. Stay was superb and owners very friendly. Stayed in the garden room which was very quiet and at the bottom of a lovely garden. Highlight was being served an excellent breakfast by an Italian chef!

We stayed at Homelands for just one night but would happily have stayed longer. A very friendly welcome from Glenda and Daniel who have recently moved to Castle Barnard from Tuscany. On looking at the information in the room we realised that we could have stayed in and eaten proper homemade Tuscan food (local off licence nearby). Hopefully this option...

We were delighted to stay in this lovely, quiet B&B on the main street. The room was very comfortable and the owners were very friendly and happy to store our bikes in the secure locked shed at the back. The bed was excellently comfortable and all was scrupulously clean. The breakfast was large and delicious, with homemade bread and marmalade...

We stayed for 2 nights at Homelands and we were made to feel most welcome! The house is beautiful and our room was fabulous, comfy bed and little extras such as toiletries and homemade cookies! The breakfast was extremely well presented and fresh local produce. Barnard Castle provided lovely walks along the river and the town is great to explore....

Glenda and Daniele are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They are flexible on breakfast time (I needed it earlier than their usual time). The food is amazing, especially the homemade bread. They knew I was going for a run and when I got back there was an extra snack in my room waiting for me! I would...

You simply could not wish for a more welcoming couple Glenda and Daniele go out of their way to make your stay wonderful. There were little Italian treats to make it special, cake and coffee/tea on arrival. Forget the rest, book Homelands
