Found the staff to. E very good here although at breakfast they outnumbered the guests! Room was very nice but the windows are single glazed and so in the cold temperatures you need to draw the heavy curtains to keep heat in. Also they suppress the noise from the road junction. Breakfast service starts quite late so not great for... More

Went to a social event with a meal one evening. We were charged £10 per bottle corkage. Why I ask myself. We had to put the bottles on the table ouselves. They were screw caps and we unscrewd then and poured out drink ourselves. Disgusting. We had two bottles so that was £20 they had pocketed from us for nothing.... More

Smelly shower curtain ensured that the whole room reeked. Obviously not been changed in months. Maybe they should have also considered putting on the heating. When it's late November and the mercury is down at 2degrees outside the lack of double glazing means it's goddam freezing inside - and noisy. Probably a smart hotel in the 1950's but it's from... Came here for a wedding but decided to make a weekend of it. Parking opposite the hotel with additional parking just up the hill. Despite there being a wedding, there was still parking available. The room was clean however it needs updating. Room was warm and the electrical sockets were a little concerning due to the noise they were making.... More

Our room was wonderful. An excellent view of the river and of the afternoon starlings. It was large with such a lot of cupboard and drawer space, so unlike modern rooms today. It was tucked away and there was no noise from other guests. We really did feel like royalty. The furnishings were wonderful. I would have liked to see... More

We stayed on a bed breakfast and evening meal basis for two nights in November. The stay was part of a coach trip from the Midlands, with Johnsons Coaches.
