This was our second stay at this wonderful hotel. The staff are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Each bedroom is individual and you have your own parking space outside. Breakfasts were excellent with food sourced from the New Forest. We went to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary and the hotel made it a very special visit for us. Highly recommended.
We have just returned from a great weekend stay at Cottage Lodge. Hotel spotlessly clean, rooms very comfortable with everything you need and the breakfasts were just amazing - thank you! Hotel located a short walk from pubs and restaurants in Brockenhurst and many great walks to be had - we didn’t use the car at all. Would highly recommend a stay at Cottage Lodge.
Beautiful rooms, fabulous food and friendly staff. This is a real treat. Brockenhurst is a lovely village and has amazing walks. Seeing a pony on the street was quite an experience. The Thai restaurant is amazing
No need to look anywhere else, this is where we will be returning to. It doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels like home. The staff are lovely, and we learned some have worked there for some years including Kelly who we had many chats with. The breakfasts are amazing, all local produce and freshly cooked. Loved our room, we had the one with a juliet balcony looking out over the car park. The horses wander by across the road along with a herd of cows yesterday and a group of donkeys. It's so easy to walk to local pubs and restaurents, and we got the train into Lymington which made a change from driving. Places like this are so hard to find, I hope we can return again soon to our welcome cup of tea and cake - they even have prosseco for breakfast :)
Have just returned from a short break at this lovely Hotel. Kelly met with us and was very welcoming, all the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms, which worked well with its own courtyard. Every morning our dog even had her own breakfast sausage, such a treat The beds are super comfy, and the room was bright and clean Its the little details, like welcoming signs outside indicating where to park, cake and cup of tea on arrival, all just showing they value their customers. All in all definitely would recommend and return.
This was our 4th visit to Cottage Lodge Hotel. It is situated in the heart of the new Forest so ideal for visiting the area. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The rooms are super clean and very comfortable. On this occasion we were celebrating our anniversary/birthday and we had a lovely surprise in our room. We will be back!
A very warm welcome plus tea and cake on arrival. Furniture throughout hotel is beautiful hand carved wood from the local area and gorgeous locally made toiletries in bathrooms. Great location to explore the beautiful area within easy reach of Lyndhurst, Lymington and Milford on Sea. We had an excellent meal in the hotel’s White Tails restaurant and breakfast was scrumptious and served by cheerful, friendly staff. All in all a lovely experience and would definitely return!
We returned to Cottage Lodge as we enjoyed our previous stay so much. Our room was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and overlooked a picturesque courtyard with spring flowers. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast every morning with a choice of continental and/or cooked food. The railway station and a fuel station are located close by. There are several walks to enjoy in the New Forest and the hotel provides excellent information on the various trails. We hope to return as our stay was like a home away from home.
I stayed at this beautiful hotel for a brief break and had a lovely time, I was lucky enough to stay during the mini-heat wave we had so I had gorgeous weather as well! Location wise, it is perfect, only a short stroll away from the station, pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops or the forest itself with its many walks. I'd contacted the hotel to say I would be arriving quite early to see if there was any possibility I could check in before the usual 3pm time, the communication was always replied to promptly and I was indeed able to get into my room around noon which was greatly appreciated. Although the only small thing perhaps with checking in early was, I missed out on the cake on arrival that all of the reviews mention! However, this wasn't an issue (I did think from old reviews that there was just cake out in their snug lounge all of the time, sadly this wasn't the case), and I did at one point pop into reception and ask if there might be any available which was quickly accommodated. I stayed in the Tom Hayter room which was nice, it had a good little patio for my dog (who cheekily loved jumping up and putting his paws on the wall for a bit of fuss and attention as people walked by!) which was quite secure and there was a handy tap/hose for washing off muddy feet. The bed was very comfy and the room had everything you could want for your stay, there was even a heater/radiator in the cupboard along with a fan in case you were hot/cold. I had breakfast in the snug bar (as dogs could join you there too) and it was absolutely delicious. There was a continental menu that you give in to reception the night before to let them know what you'd like (I went for some porridge and fresh pastries - both of which were lovely) and then in the morning, there was a menu to order from as well. I tried their New Forest breakfast which was delicious and they even brought out an extra sausage for the dog which was a nice little touch! All of the staff I encountered were very polite, friendly and helpful and I hope to stay here again soon, although sadly it isn't the cheapest of breaks and the nearer to summer you get the more the prices increase/as does the minimum stay duration as well, which is a shame - but understandable I suppose given how wonderful the hotel is! Thank you all for a lovely stay.…
Extremely welcoming and friendly staff. They clearly cared about their guests having a positive experience at the hotel. Great location in the village. Walking distance to local shops, cafe's, pubs. Fantastic walks into the New Forest from the doorstep to burn off the excellent breakfast!
