Great room. Very quiet. Lovely gardens and delightful open fires. Smashing afternoon tea with great home made scones and lashings of cream. It's found the balance of being rustic without being tired. Luxurious without being pretentious. I didn't have dinner there so can't comment on that, though breakfast was done very well.

Was given a afternoon tea voucher as a gift, we have passed the hotel entrance many times, but never visited. After the delightful afternoon tea we had, will definitely be back. Service was first class and everything was homemade. Book in advance, as Everything is made to order. The hotel itself sits on the riverbank and the gardens are lovely...

The Roman Camp Hotel has a great history but could use a bit of a facelift in some of the bedrooms. The common spaces are all lovely and quiet comfortable. Especially loved the conservatory. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, giving us a tour of the property upon our arrival. We were given an upgrade on our rooms which...

Not to be missed although not cheap at £282 for 2 DB&B. Very well trained and hard working staff who were all much smarter than their guests. Food excellent especially the 5 course dinner menu at £55. Lovely grounds, garden, beautiful trees and river. Great fun.

Almost all of the staff we interacted with went out of their way to please us. We chose the hotel because it was dog friendly and in the centre of Callander. We ate at the hotel 2 nights and the food was superb. I have some dietary restrictions, and the chef always had an option suitable for me (the chef's...

A large ,pleasant and clean room, full of antique furniture adding character together with comfort. Our two terriers were also very happy. The gardens were substantial, leading down to the river with many nooks and crannies to explore. Service was very good and friendly. The tables in the restaurant surround a large circular room and the food is good though...

The hotel is in a vey interesting location on the banks of the River Teith, where you can take a pleasent evening stroll. Inside there is a quirky wee chapel and otherwise cosy (in the woodfire sense) decoration. The staff are very attentive and dinner was vey good.

Lovely setting for a wedding. 'Quaint' probably the best way to describe the decor, building and surroundings. Attended a family wedding and had a wonderful time. Service was good and food was superb. A few hitches at first, running out of bubbly ( according to one waiter, but not another?), one draught lager available which needed 'changed' shortly after guests...

The Roman Camp Hotel is a warm welcoming beautiful Scottish country home. The furnishings and elegance of the public rooms are breathtaking, the gardens are superb and the staff first class. The dinner menu and wine list are excellent. Our one night stay was far too short. Highly recommend for travellers new to Scotland

Firstly believe me when I say that any pictures you might see of The Roman Camp Hotel simply do not do it justice. This hotel is a truly beautiful place all turrets, log fires and candlelight, walled gardens, a beautiful river and peacocks on the lawn. It is the ultimate in romance and the epitome of style. In addition to...
