We love Callander so decided to book in here for the weekend. Got here and found that the room was absolutely nothing like the pictures. Room was smelly, bed didn't look like it had been changed, shower had ants in it and was very bad with mildew. The only saving grace was that the room was serviced after the first...

Yes, this hotel is old! Yes it could do with updating but it was perfect for what we needed travelling with 3 young children. We were on the first floor in a very large room. We have a 7yo, a 4yo and a 2yo. The main room had a large double bed with a very comfy mattress and a good...

This is a delightfully quaint hotel with small rooms and old yet functional and in the case of our bed at least, comfortable furniture. The breakfast was very good although the coffee was a bit lacking in robustness, we requested a change of table which was accommodated pleasantly. Our room, 4, was small and overlooked an alley, there were no...

After travelling 350 miles, we arrived in Callander on a beautiful hot, sunny afternoon. What a beautiful place Callander is. We went to the Crags Hotel, as had an overnight stay, whilst touring Scotland. I decided to book the four poster room, as a treat for my husbands birthday !! We were given our key and told to make ourselves...

Why the asterisk? It's not entirely fair to rate a hotel if you haven't stayed there......but we did pay for the room. When we arrived it was readily clear that the pictures we based our booking on were deceptive. The rooms pictured may exist but they certainly were not what we were given. What we were given had shower mold,...

Hotel very dated. Room was very dark as only half the light bulbs worked. Old creaky bed & mattress had a topper on it to try make it a little more comfortable. Staff very friendly & breakfast was good.

Sadly I cannot find anything to recommend this hotel, it no longer serves meals except breakfasts in spite of still advertising meals so not really a hotel. Breakfast was ok but a dog with apparently a skin complaint was a little too near to the tables! The room was dark, two lights not working and furniture very dated, bathroom floor...

My stay was for just one night and I was not impressed with the place. The dogs were always in the way and at breakfast time sat by tables hoping for food and drooling. My room was a good size and clean, but it smelt of dogs...not very pleasant. There were no evening meals served there, which seemed strange for a hotel.

My partner and I spent two nights at the very distinguished Crags Hotel. Having heard good things from a friend who had also stayed a couple of times previously, I had high hopes that staying at Crags was going to be a rather enjoyable experience….It did not disappoint. I fell in love with the quirky, original décor, and the lovely...
