Lovely location just off Christchurch high street Great Hotel Staff very friendly and welcoming Great Decor well kept bar area Rooms spacious and very clean Good food with plenty of choice Have stayed here many times Best hotel I have ever stayed in
The service was fantastic - every member of staff was welcoming / friendly and helpful - couldn't fault it at all, especially as you had a wedding going on at the same time as well. The room was a brilliant size, good storage and the bathroom was great - my wife liked the layout for getting ready more than our recent stay in a 'posh' Dubai hotel as well. Really clean / couldn't fault it. Breakfast was great as well - loads of choice and top quality ingredients all fresh.
Lovely Hotel, very large clean rooms, great staff especially Matt who couldn't do enough for us. evening meal was excellent and the staff were friendly. great location as its right in the middle of the town.
We had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was cosy as described but it had all you needed and a lovely big bed. The staff were excellent. Friendly, welcoming and made great cocktails! The reception, restaurant and bar and of a high standard of decor. The location is super. We had a lovely sunny wander down to the Quay which is minutes away. Overall I was very impressed as we've not stayed in a Harbour hotel before. Will definitely seek them out in the future.
Noisy! Room next door, road noise with revellers chatting loudly in the late evening, Rubbish and recycling collections at 4 and 5 AM. Breakfast was great, but could be a challenge if you were in a hurry. I enjoyed my leisurely breakfast.
We have lunch regularly at the Kings. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent, served properly with waiter/ress service. Today's offer was excellent value. Nice ambience. bar available and accommodation if needed. Central position in Christchurch. At present there is a cocktail hour offer too.
Had a lovely stay at the Kings arms, the room was spotless and spacious and overlooked a very pretty courtyard. The bed was comfy and huge. Best of all were the staff who couldn't do enough really. Not sure the name of the person who looked after us on the evening of the 3/4/22 but he is a treasure. Overall a great stay and look forward to returning for another.
We recently had our wedding here and had to postpone twice due to the pandemic. Throughout the rescheduling process the kings were helpful and always tried to put our minds at ease. On the lead up to the final date we were invited to come in and meet with Kathryn which help settle a lot of our concerns and made sure our day went smoothly. We were lucky enough to have the day before the wedding to set up and decorate, as I had made a lot of the decorations and stationary myself. The staff were very helpful and were on hand if needed. On the day everything went perfectly, we didn’t expect it to go so well! The staff were great, food was insanely good (we’ve had so many guests contact us since just to rave about how good the duck was!). Our drinks were always topped up and food was brought out on time. The evening reception was great, and all of the food for the evening guests was prepared on time and everyone enjoyed it! The only cons I would have would be: * It would have been great if there were microphones for the speeches as we had quite a few guests that couldn’t hear at all. We understand that this could have been something that we could provide ourselves but speeches are a pretty integral part of a wedding breakfast so it would make sense to have it as standard. * We were offered bubbly throughout our stay however we were never made aware of being charged for it, and the way that it was worded made it seem like it was complimentary. We had no problem paying this but all of the bridal party were a bit confused after finding out that it was being charged to the room as we all had the same opinion on the wording. * The pricing for the bars changed throughout the day and this would have been nice to know beforehand so that we could’ve notified guests as some of them came to us quite confused. Overall it was a brilliant day and couldn’t have wished for anything better! We were very concerned during the lead up to the wedding and there was a lot of stress but it was worth it in the end. Thank you again to Kathryn and The Kings.…
There is nothing more to say than how wonderful The Kings have been regarding Grace and Shaun's wedding. Postponed twice because of the pandemic all prices and room rates were honoured. Three times the work but you would never have known! The wedding ceremony (The Bowling Green Pavilion) was charming and fun, photos with the castle and grounds as a backdrop and then the magically dressed reception venue could not be faulted. We - and they - had the most wonderful day and all their guests agreed. Couldn't recommend this more. WELL DONE KINGS!
The quote in the title came from so many of of our family and friends that I had to start there, and I'm certain they were being assuredly honest. As a Groom who constantly felt like he'd burst, I was frequently met with smiles and reassurance from the most attentive and professional staff. This made all the difference. Every detail was seamless, the building and interior was beautiful and the atmosphere was cosy, yet you got the distinct impression of high-end presentation. I'll admit we had perfect weather, but the views were STUNNING. This was what initially sold it for me, and if you haven't visited yet, I would highly recommend a drink or a meal there. I felt like a king with my bride and I waving down to friends from the balcony of the bridal suite. From planning to execution, I couldn't possibly have asked for more. Big thanks to Collette, Leszek and team, it was worth every penny!…
