Right off the bat, the not so great (not really anything to do with the Inn, but you ought to know going in). I'm fairly certain I lost three or four years off my life trying to park in Fowey. Seriously, was pretty sure I was going to end up with the hire car in the river. Everything after was...

We stayed for just one night yesterday. The view of the river was lovely and room comfy and clean.we were also lucky that we could take our little dog with us. We eat in the bar area which is really cosy and our meals were delicious. There was a nice friendly couple having a drink who we chatted to. Thank...

Last year we enjoyed the New Year's Eve dinner, and decided to repeat the experience. Some people say you should not return to the same place as there is a good chance you will be disappointed. This was certainly not our experience with The Old Ferry Inn. The meal was fantastic, and voted by my partner as the best she...

I stayed here for 2 nights with my friend. We had a fabulous twin bedded room, No 8, which had 2 windows that looked out over the Fowey estuary. The rooms were warm and clean, lovely big bath with a shower attachment and there were plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. There was a kettle and coffee and tea, sugar...

We have stayed at the Ferry Inn on several occasions, and this last one didn't disappoint. It was especially memorable because we had a couple of friends with us this time. We got to experience it anew from their eyes. Both couples had rooms that overlook the estuary, in fact you can look out the window to the sea while...

Stayed the weekend on a travel zoo offer and had the best time. The hotel, food and ambience together with lovely staff made the whole visit to Fowey great. A big thank you to Penny who put up with my husband winding her up for two days. We all loved our stay so much we have booked again for January.

Probably writing against the tide of feelings about the old ferry inn but I can only say it as it happened to us. Firstly i must advise anyone disabled or not too great on their feet to consider the limited car park for the inn is up a very steep hill and there are many steps within the inn itself....

Only two nights there but wish it could have been two weeks or two months! Set right on the river across from Fowey in Poddinick with outstanding river views. Our room overlooked the river, which was lovely in the daytime and even better at night when the lights came on. An extra benefit was looking across the road from our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the banks of the Fowey River Estuary in the picturesque village of Bodinnick, The Old Ferry is a quintessential Cornish Inn that has been providing accommodation and refreshment for over 400 years. We overlook the Bodinnick to Fowey ferry which can trace its roots back to the 13th Century, and 'Ferryside' the former family home of Daphne du Maurier. The Inn with its relaxed and warm welcome has many traditional features including a wood burner and stone slate floor, and is full of old photographs, nautical bric-a-brac and memorabilia. The perfect place to while away time during the winter months. Our panoramic restaurant gives fantastic river views towards the town of Fowey and the village of Polruan. There are also south facing outside terraces which also have splendid estuary views, and capture the sun all day, a perfect retreat for a summers day. ... more   less
