Two Sunday lunches for 12 pound. And amazing they were too!!! I have been everywhere trying to find a decent Sunday lunch and have paid extortionate amounts for horrible inferior food. What can I say other than this was delicious. Beef dinner. Huge Yorkie roasting and lovely creamy mash. Turnip too and an extra side of carrots brocolli and peas....

Stayed here for one night for a family get together. The rooms are ok but need some TLC.Having booked in excess of ten rooms and the function suit with a buffet for our family get together we were then hit with Breakfast being charged at £9.50 per person. How much can a person eat for breakfast? This way over the top(I have...

Stayed here on Tuesday night. Got to reception and was promptly checked in. Room was very spacious, tidy and well set up. First thing I did was have a shower. Possibly the best shower I've ever had. Instant hot water and perfect pressure. Didn't eat here as I had a prior engagement, but menu looked lovely. Bar staff were extremely...

The staff here are incredibly friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. My room was a really good size, extremely clean, although a little dated. The shower was lovely, immediate hot water and great pressure. The food was very good, huge portions! I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

I've eaten here a few times and stayed once when I had a concert in the city. The Room was pretty standard, nice and comfy, it could maybe do with some modernisation, but that's aesthetics only. Everything worked fine and was clean. Can highly recommend the restaurant here, as already stated I've eaten here various time due to family living...

Booked a Superior double here from 27th-29th December as a base when visiting family. We had booked breakfast for both days and chocolate strawberries on arrival. On arrival check in was easy, friendly staff and chocolate strawberries waiting for us (which were lovely). The room was for the most part fine but the bed could do with a new mattress....

Caught between a 3 & 4 out of 5 here, but decided on 4, as the welcome at reception was excellent (Swiss person!). Room was clean, bathroom as well..... but mattress not very comfortable, chair marked, worn and didn't fit under desk. View of the famous Angel of the North from the window of the room was striking! Location for...

I'd be very nice with this review as the dining experience was generally good. The waiter was nice, the place and atmosphere was great. The food (pork dish) came out undercooked so I had to send it back. The staff was apologetic (he even offered a complimentary drinks) and ordered the same dish - came back the same (undercooked) so...
