One night business stay. Good bits first, staff friendly and approachable. Location excellent for beach front types and close to attractions. Steep stairs but a lift is available. Room large and the view was good. Felt young (im in my late 50's, when i went for breakfast) this is a genteel hotel with an older clientel.. Strong smell of kippers...

Second visit in six weeks and they had redecorated our room , clean tidy friendly hotel, with a good full English breakfast in the morning. Will be visiting again. Parking can be problematic but don't let that put you off

Staff was very helpful. Awesome bar open 24/7 for guests. Views and hotel location second to none. Rooms are a bit on the older, faded side but that's what gives it character. Nice central location just opposite sea life. Breakfast was again very enjoyable.

We called in for elevenses on Wednesday 12th April 2017. Young lady on reception gave us a friendly welcome. The hotel is nicely appointed and comfortable. We were promptly served with quality tea and coffee at a reasonable cost. Made a pleasant break from the amusement arcades.

We had enjoyed a week at the Nelson Hotel about six years ago (soon after it was refurbished and renamed) and had then resolved to return – which we did at the end of March 2017. The staff remain friendly and helpful - as we recalled from our previous visit. There are a few steps up to the front door,...

We booked 2 rooms - a single seaview for my mother in law and a double for my husband and I. Rooms nice and warm - unlike the seafront in February - with a full bath and nice bathroom. The breakfasts were also very good. When a kettle in the room would not work they replaced in within 5 minutes!...
