The meal we were looking forward too, as we have had some very nice meals here this year. But we did not expect to freeze while we ate our meal, even the staff are having to wear thermals while they work, and that is not good, especially with the prices your having to pay for food. I did ask the staff if the heating was on and they did say it was, but not all radiators were on, but we will have too wait until the summer to go back. The public bar used to be packed out standing room only , but nowadays, their is more space to sit and plenty of empty chair, and can count customers on one hand Poor show
Probably really a 3.5. At £70 a night represents very good value although the rooms could do with a little work in places. Good breakfast selection for just £10. Food in the evening was a little bit hit and miss with priority being given to the function room. Top tip: beware rooms to the front of the Hotel as you will be disturbed by the front door constantly banging shut. Sent from my iPad
Once again, a wonderful experience staying at Newtown House Hotel. loads of hot water, breakfast has lots of choices and freshly cooked. bed was really comfortable, lovely gardens, very helpful and friendly staff I can't wait to come back soon.
We attended a birthday bash here with a stop-over. Small and boutique the hotel was clean and very cosy. Staff were warm, friendly and attentive. We occupied a private dining room, not far from the bar! 3 course meal was served and was good, as was the table service large English breakfast in the morning. Our room was large and light with dual aspect windows. The iron and ironing board was a useful addition. Would stay again when visiting friends.
This was a mini break for me and daughter, she found the hotel met up to her expectations, in an ideal location on main road, fantastic restaurant and good quality menu, Stayed for 3 nights and found the staff quite friendly.
A small group of us went for a Sunday Lunch. What a lovely place this is. The service, quality of food & value is excellent. This was my first visit & I am sure we will visit again. I highly recommend this place.
First visit the bar person more concerned about her hair as she looked into mirror behind ignoring the fact we had just walked and waiting for drink we decided to walk out she continued to ignore …. Live on Island shocking service never to return.
Went for a weekend away. The room was very cosy and the bed comfy. The bathroom needs some TLC. The food was delicious although the servings could be a little smaller. The staff very friendly and eager to please
Myself and my friend decided to treat our mum's to a weekend away and we were not disappointed by the Newtown House Hotel. Booked in by a lovely receptionist who showed us to our rooms. Rooms are kept beautifully clean and tidy. Tea and coffee in the room as well. We booked for the Madonna tribute evening which was brilliant. This included a 2 course meal, which was serviced nice and hot. We had such a great weekend that were booking to go back next month. This was due to staff being so friendly and helpful and running such a great value event.
What a great hotel to stay not to far from the sea. The staff are wonderful and helpful. The room was very nice to sleep and the rooms are very clean and tidy. The food is excellent The breakfast was amazing.
