Popped in with my partner last week after having a lovely long walk at Loch Leven (highly recommend!) decided to visit the kirklands on a spur of the moment, as we had heard good things about it. I have to say the service was very disappointing, the staff were unfriendly and It wasn't a nice atmosphere as we heard staff...

We have stayed in this area for over 10 years but today was our 1st visit to the Kirklands, we ate in the front part of the hotel, the atmosphere is lovely, food was amazing and the staff very friendly. It was also excellent value for money, just over £30 pounds for 2, having 2 courses, drinks, coffee and hot...

Although located out in town right on the road, it was a quiet place to stay. The dinner was good and so was the breakfast. In the morning we enjoyed a peaceful walk to the park by the lake. As is common in most old inns and hotels, there is no lift, so suitcases have to carried up the stairs.

Visited on a Saturday night for a special occasion. Front bar is pleasant enough however main dining room at the back is very impressive. Service and steaks were first class. Desserts also went down well!

If you want a significantly higher standard of quality and imaginative cooking than the 'run-of-the-mill' pub grub, don't want a 'special treat' fine-dining experience and want all of that at real value-for-money prices, then it's hard to look past the Kirklands, at least in the wider Kinross area. This is not trying for Michelin stars, but knocks the spots off...

My husband and I stayed here for just one night recently as we were visiting friends nearby. The welcome at reception was very friendly and they even showed us to our room which is rare these days. The room was on the top floor very spacious, at the back of the hotel so very quiet. The floor boards were a...

Called in for lunch slightly apprehensive as we hadn't booked. Need not have worried, (it may have been a quiet day) customers didn't quite make double figures, which was a shame. Light and airy, although I always feel an ivory colour scheme tends to look old very quickly, good service, fair menu, food very acceptable and well presented. Will be...

Stayed here recently as we were attending a wedding nearby. Every aspect of the stay was top notch from the helpful staff who confirmed our booking, then reassured me when I thought I'd made a mistake, to the food - the risotto was outstanding and the Arbroath smokies at breakfast were amazing. The room was spacious and had everything we...

We booked an overnight stay at the Kirklands Hotel at the last minute after a late night in Edinburgh and a wise decision to avoid a 3 and a half hour drive home in the dark on a Saturday evening. We were very pleasantly surprised with what we found. The staff were very welcoming, the room was a good size...

We stayed for one night, the room was lovely, modern tastefully decorated and clean. My other half was feeling fluish & cold. There was supposed to be a fan heater in the wardrobe, but there wasn't one. Within minutes of mentioning this, a heater was supplied and the heating turned up. We didn't have dinner here, but the food we...
