I was here recently with my family for a meal, we were greeted warmly by a young girl who led us to our seat. Our food was excellent, I had a Texan burger which was mouth-watering! All the staff were lovely, even the kitchen staff walked past every once-in-a-while smiled at us and carried on. A job well done! Will...

Popped in to The Well without booking but was happy we did , having read a few previous review's I have to say they have upped their game . The food was very nice and piping hot we just had the one course each including a soft drink and a couple of pints of beer which was £27. The facelift...

I first entered this hotel yesterday to borrow the key to the Scotlandwell Wash House...but that is another review. Anyway, my reason for mentioning this is because I was so impressed with the interior and the ambience of the place that I said to my wife "We will need to go there for a meal"...and we did...tonight. It fully lived...

We stayed as a group of 8 on a shooting break with friends, the hotel and bar suites the purpose of our visit very well. The food was excellent with a great breakfast included, the staff were very attentive. The bar and restaurant looks like it has had a recent refurbishment to a lovely standard in keeping with the Scottish...

We went in this evening for a bar supper. The Inn is undergoing a facelift but the staff were welcoming and attentive. We were shown to our table, given menus and our drinks order taken. our meal arrived promptly and well presented - and piping hot. We had steak and ale pie and a Texan burger. Both were beautifully cooked.

Four of us used the restaurant four times during a weeks stay for gliding at the local club. The food was good, plentiful and well priced and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will certainly be going back the next time I am at Portmoak for the gliding.

We really enjoyed our meal tonight , the venison steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare, perfect mashed potatoes too , lovely meal. Will definitely be back , thanks to the chef. The pub itself was full of atmosphere with a nice buzz about it.

Dropped in for dinner by chance on our way home Friday evening - bad choice. Only one other table occupied - now we know why. Steak pie was fine, but kilted chicken inedible. It didn't smell right and went uneaten. (Suspect it had something to do with the extremely fatty bacon together with whisky sauce). The odd smell persisted until...

We've eaten here twice now. First meal - Camembert sharing starter which was served with either stale or vastly under toasted bread - sent back to kitchen! Mains were steak pie meat in which was rather chewy, steak which was ordered medium but was served oozing blood Second meal- starters were both lacking heat, and served with discoloured lettuce. Mains...

Called in as we were passing and looking for a meal. Very quiet when we were there, but it was early Monday evening. The food was well-cooked and tasty - not gourmet by any standard but very good, well-priced honest meals, served in pleasant surroundings with friendly, efficient attentive staff. Couldn't ask for more from a spur-of-the-moment choice.
