Our Grandson and his partner gave us a gift voucher for lunch at our favourite country pub.As usual Gareth and his team were on top form, providing us with some lovely carrot soup, excellent fish and chips and a club sandwich to die for .All washed down with the best Timothy Taylor and perfect Pinot.

Went for BBC ribs with skinny fries & house coleslaw...'skinny fries' were undercooked oven chips which were cold on arrival...ribs were plentiful but just boiled & some gooey sauce thrown over them and it was a very small portion of coleslaw - came away most disappointed....had poor service here at the dog before but never a meal as poor as...

As our friends have moved into the area and we live in the Fylde we decided to drive to them for a change of scenery, they recommended this pub as close to them. The Sunday lunch was exceptional the beef cooked to perfection and the yorkshires just melt in your mouth. Prices are very reasonable and you can have a...

Had a lovely Sunday lunch after a walk on the Edge, which provides a lovely view across Cheshire if it is a nice day. I had the roast pork and my parents had the turkey, both very good. Recommended with a walk around the edge.

Not having been here before and understanding Sundays could be busy, I tried to book a table for 4 (the previous Monday) and was told they didn't accept bookings for less than 6...

A delightful pub with rooms - I met some friends for dinner and I stayed over as I'm not a local. The beer and food was well kept and top notch respectively. It was a Sunday night and the place was heaving but that didnt affect the levels of service, just added to the atmosphere The room was spacious, clean...

Went with team members for a meal which was superb. Traditional British food served excellently. Large portions at reasonable prices. Extremely satisfying. Only issue is that being so full up after the main meal I couldn't manage any desert.

The personnel is nice and kind the food is good as well but the rooms are very basic and really cold . The radiators are off during the night and and on just some times...

The Dog is what is now a very familiar style of establishment, a "gastro-pub", no longer just a village local but a large bar/dining area with letting rooms above. On first sight the pub is really nice, a smart whitewashed building sporting a well appointed bar with plenty of seating sensibly arranged around the several open fires and stoves that...
