Not a bad word to say about the mayflower. We were in room 3 which was large, had a bath in the room & the bed was really comfortable. Great shower & lovely toiletries. We stayed for 2 nights & loved the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had. We also had lunch when we arrived. The...

We had a lovely weekend at this pub. Our room was extremely spacious and nicely furnished and had a large bathroom with both a roll top bath and a separate walk in shower. The staff are friendly and the pub is very popular for food. The pub is large with a separate restaurant area and has a large garden and...

Bottle of red. Great meal and perfect waitress in the last of sunshine at the end of September car park free. Eat Alfresco on the raised platform. Plenty of interest with a view of the harbour and the many expensive boats

This is a restaurant. It looks like a pub. The food served is well prepared, especially the vegetables which were served with simply excellent flavours and distinctive mixture of the current season. Take a little care with the table you choose. Some are quite dark. It can be irritating to be asked by four different people if everything is good,...

Visited this Saturday having prebooked for dinner online, we had spent the afternoon around the town and arrived early and were given a table straight away. Service was fabulous not too quick clearing away, but we weren't left feeling neglected either, which was nice and staff very helpful and efficient. Food was all freshly prepared to order and was excellent,...

At the last minute we decided to go out for a meal this evening and decided to try The Mayflower as it had recently undergone extensive renovation and the TripAdvisor reports looked quite good. We were very happy with the experience. The decor is very pleasant. The staff are very friendly and attentive and have an eye for detail and...

We just wanted something simple, a last chance to sit in the sun at lunchtime. The mayflower turned out to fit the bill exactly. We had potted mackerel, home made pate and cold ham and beef with melon. There was ample food for two for alunch. Large white wine was £7.50, but the total was only £35. Mandy was avery...

I hate to leave a bad review, so I won't call it that, but more of a personal experience... I used to spend quite a chunk of time in the summer time here with my family and friends mainly in the garden and we loved it. Great food at good prices and a good laugh and a natter with the...

i have to say that since this venue has been been reinvented by new owners or complete refurbishment it has become 1 of the best pubs/restaurants in the local area. The food has improved 99% and the seating area is quite extreme in the amount of space there is available. There is a huge garden area for children to run...
