We arrived at the Hotel and were able to check into all the rooms quite early which was a bonus. The bedrooms were well appointed with comfortable beds and fluffy towels plus tea and coffee making facilities. The tea was very good although my friends felt the coffee machines were a complete waste of time, no instructions on how to...

Nice cosy warm room above the pub, bathroom a bit small but hey! Lovely old pub with fire blazing, friendly staff on arrival and in the bar at night. Only downside was the food, pretty average. Fish batter was really crunchy and old oil tasting. Breakfast a bit of a let down, not on par with others for the price....

Dear "uk_travel_girl" Thanks for staying with us and the 4 star review. I am glad you liked everything overall however I apologize that the food wasn't up to standards. We usually do a little better so I will take your comments and feed them back to the team to ensure we can look again at the batter and breakfast offer....

My husband and I stayed on 27 Dec for one night. Had such a lovely stay last year we couldn't wait to return. We requested the same room as last time and it was just as lovely. All the staff are so friendly and professional and so helpful. Will be back next Christmas for sure. Thanks to all the staff...

Our family visited Christmas Day and stayed the night. The hotel has beautiful bedrooms, a lovely dining area, with excellent food and friendly and helpful staff. The location is great, positioned in the high street to explore the pretty market town of Lymington. Will definitely visit again and can highly recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights the week before Christmas with the boyfriend. Had issues finding the carpark, but rang up the Inn and the guy on the phone was a great help, and gave advice on best time to get into the car park to get a space. On arrival, it was a swift check in. The guy at reception...

A lovely old building with quirky rooms. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The evening food was very good. Continental breakfast was awful - hardly anything there. Cold meats ran out before 9am and weren't replaced. Rest of items were terrible quality. Probably worst breakfast I've ever had in any hotel ever. The rooms were fine and quirky...

Dear "vestas" Thanks for staying with us and for the time taken to review. We appreciate your kind words on the service, staff and food. The breakfast comments baffle me and I will immediately investigate as to why on this specific morning, items weren't replenished and why the table as a whole seemed under whelming. We often get praised for...

We stayed at the Pub/hotel for one night and had dinner there on the Sunday evening. We had room at the front, overlooking the High Street. The room was beautifully decorated and had been designed to make the most of the extremely old building. There was a welcoming fire in the bar area but the restaurant was fairly empty when...

Dear "Louise P" Well firstly thank you for staying with us and for an honest review. I really do wish it had been a stay suitable for 5 stars and not 3 so apologies. Came for an anniversary night away which was ruined. Room was ok but very basic for the £120 paid. We had dinner which came out cold so was sent back. When it came back out was raw steak and chips had obviously been refried so were like bullets. That was returned so never got a meal. In the morning even...

Dear "Lee H" I think we will both have to compromise here with regards to your review, let me explain. I do apologize for the steak that was sent out. I was informed of this issue and over saw the returned steak that was indeed cooked rare, not the medium rare as requested. Considering we serve over 120 steaks in...

Called in for lunch on a Saturday. Busy . Got a table OK but we're advised there was a 30 min wait for food. Food OK although skinny chips were soggy and tasted like fat in frier was ready for replacing. Live music from clarinet player added to ambience. Generally pleasant experience but not Wow!

Matt E, General Manager at The Angel & Blue Pig, responded to this review

Dear "midtermers" Thanks for stopping by on Saturday lunch, we appreciate your custom. Yes, this time of the week is generally our busiest for the amount of footfall coming through the doors however I am glad you managed to get a table quickly. Apologies for the sub standard chips, that seems unlike us as the fryer oil is generally changed...
