Our second visit, and it was like we'd never been gone. We stayed in the White Lady room this time, and it's now a suite. We had a new comfy bed with electric blankets in the dragon's den, a lounge with great views across the Wye valley, and a bathroom with a square Japanese tub. We had dinner at Hill...

Just spent a Winter Weekend at Hill House and loved every minute - fabulous, mysterious, quirky, atmospheric, individual and the breakfasts ... gargantuan and delicious .. and we had dinner on the first night and that too was truly memorable! I will definitely go again and take my husband the next time :-)

Although our stay was a few years ago my partner and I still fondly reminisce on our stay there. And are planing the next. Duncan and Alex are the most gracious and fun hosts. If you like Premier inns and Burger chains stay well away this is not the place for you.

We got married on Halloween this year and chose The Hill House for our honeymoon, we could not have made a better choice! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home by Duncan, Alex and the 2 gorgeous dogs - George and Boo. The place is wonderfully quirky, packed with books, curios and artwork,...

We have been to lots of B & Bs around the world and Hill House stands out as one of the best. It has it all! A huge house with lots to discover, including tons of books, a cinema room to relax and watch movies and a beautiful cozy fully stocked bar with fireplace and lots of board games. Duncan...

We have rated this hotel 5* the welcome was excellent from Duncan and his two amazing friendly dogs. The evening meal and breakfast top class and so plentiful. Excellent local produce was used and cooked to perfection. All the drinks were also locally bought where ever possible. The whole experience was wonderful the bed room was comfortable large and welcoming....

The old house literally feels like its bursting from the seems with not only stories but life. Obviously a much loved home but has an inch thick layer of dust and by the looks of it home-made electrics and dodgy DIY, although for some reason none of this is a negative but adds to the charm and eccentricity of the...

I feel a fraud for taking so long to write this review, when we stayed for 2 nights whilst attending a wedding in the Wye Valley, which we attended some considerable time ago. However, the memories that we still have are long lasting. Duncan and Alex are super hosts and Alex provided us with a taxi service to and from...

Do not come to Hill House if you can't deal with cobwebs, carpet trip hazards, dogs, cat hair, temperamental hot water, and a host who dishes out swearing along with copious amounts of booze. Do come if you like to be welcomed whole heartedly, fed until your seams split, get roaringly drunk, play silly games, stare at incredible views, lounge...
