We have visited Duncan & Alex several times as a couple & group of friends. The reception is always wonderful. We have stayed in each room and loved the 7 foot 4-poster, Japanese bath, fire in the bedroom and balcony for breakfast. The food is to die for and even those with the biggest appetite will be full. The hot...

A delightful return to the ever welcoming Hill House. As usual, we had a very relaxing time in the sauna, bar and hot tub, and groaned at the size of the breakfasts. Duncan and Alex are great hosts, and this is really a very special place to hide away from the stresses of the world. highly recommended. The boiler was...

Just returned form a weekend fishing trip on the River Wye with a few friends. Not the first time I have stayed here as we normally use The Hill House as a base for our River Wye fishing trips and we have also stayed a few times before with our families too. However I have only just realised that I...

We went here for a long weekend to unwind and now we're desperate to go back. The House and the rooms are lovely. Bed was comfortable, breakfast was so lovely and big we barely needed to eat anything else all day. The surrounding woods are perfect for walks and the House is perfectly located a very short drive from Ross...

Great hospitality, friendly reception, lovely locally sourced produce for breakfast and evening meals. Hot tub, sauna and a bar! - by no means a modern house, but full of character with panoramic views over the Wye valley. We would recommend staying here, and would certainly stay again.

We have just returned from a four night break at the Hill House and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the third time we have been here and I can honestly say you could not go anywhere and feel so welcome and at home. It is not your average guest house, with lots of unfinished projects on the go in a...

Just returned from a two night stay This has got to be the most laid back b n b I've ever known Duncan and his family are so welcoming. The breakfast is huge , the beds were huge , the dogs are huge but very friendly Did nt encounter any other visitors that the house apparently is home to.

A great, idiosyncratic place. Loved the relaxed atmosphere. The wine goblets in the hot tub looking up at the stars in the night sky was an experience. Lovely comfortable bed. A wonderful host in Duncan who made you feel right at home from the beginning. Along with everyone else I'd say that breakfast keeps you going most of the day....
