Fairly basic hotel in a lovely town in the Wye Valley. Slightly overpriced for what I was expecting Rooms are quite large but with bathroom that could do with some updating. Food - Whilst we only had one dish (Pork Belly), it was very very good for the price. Service to receive a drink & food was very slow but...

We booked a superior room almost last minute at this hotel. It is a beautiful looking building set in 11 acres of grounds. Our room over looked the grounds . I assume it is classed as superior because of this. The room was clean and had tea and coffee making facilities and was on the second floor. Because the building...

This visit was a treat from my grandson for my special Birthday who visited with me. The afternoon tea was gorgeous and homemade ! Finger sandwiches including smoked salmon, chocolate cake, mango panna cotta, mixed fruit tarts, mini quiche & a must of fruit scones with jam & clotted cream, all with champagne and tea or coffee in lovely surroundings...

This is a lovely hotel, almost in the centre of Ross-on-Wye (less than 5 minutes) yet feels like a country retreat. The room was lovely, fantastic breakfast. A very enjoyable stay - sadly only for 1 night but hope to return!

Although this hotel is close tot he town centre, it has extensive grounds and a really pleasant setting. The food was good and the ambiance was very relaxing. An oasis of calm in the midst of the bustle of town. Great choice to stay.

Went with work colleagues for afternoon tea - well what a disappointment at quite a price of £18 each. Firstly we were offered tea or coffee - yes that basic, no choice of teas - or coffee for that matter. Secondly - paper serviettes really? No napkins? Sandwiches were like doorstops- not dainty sandwiches you would expect with afternoon tea....

Went for Mothers Day lunch . On arrival our 23 year old Autistic Son had a bit of a meltdown in the Dining Room. We had to take him out to calm down. He did not want to return and had not eaten. The lady running the show said without prompting "would he like some chips in the car" ?...

My Uncle and Aunt had their Golden Wedding party at The Chase. The reception and lunch was lovely, with attentive staff and a gorgeous meal. The grounds are beautiful and I wished I'd have spent more time exploring! As we live a fair distance away, we decided to make a weekend of it and stay over. The rooms were pokey...

First the good stuff, plenty of parking, not difficult to find, not far from the main streets of the center of Ross on Wye. Also the building looks impressive, the staff were courteous, the receptionist very efficient and the bar-staff also efficient once they looked up from their mobile phone. Breakfast (smoked Haddock) was very good. Now the not so...
