A lovely friendly hotel. The staff in the restaurant were so warm and engaging which was so welcome after our 13 hour drive from NE Scotland. There is a great M&S food store near door to fuel you for the day or journey ahead. Excellent parking and so many wonderful attractions in the area, especially if you like gardens, culture or stately homes.

We have recently returned from a three night stay at the Premier Inn Uckfield and I can honestly say what a gem of a hotel this is, every member of staff is professional and friendly and the COVID measures are followed to the very highest standard.
The rooms are bright and well appointed with comfortable beds and spotless bathrooms, indeed everything you could wish for from any hotel let alone one which is such excellent value for money. We opted for a deal which included breakfast and how refreshing it was to be asked before you were seated whether you have any allergies ( I am a Coeliac ) it removes all the difficulties I so often encounter. The breakfast were also freshly cooked to order and delicious. Special thanks to Artan and Jack who went out of there way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, Premier Inn should be proud to employ you.

This hotel is such a lovely clean hotel, the staff where friendly helpful and polite. The room was clean fresh and comfortable, we were on the grand floor and it was so quiet, the restaurant and bar where clean and tidy and again staff were lovely. Checkin was easy and check out u drop the card in the box and leave. All rooms have air fin and heating and also USB ports on the bedsides, the tv is a great size. The bathroom was airy and the bath a great size with a standard shower as well as a waterfall shower.
Overall the hotel is a 10/10 highly recommended.
30 minutes from Eastbourne for the beach front and other activities, 60 minutes from Brighton, 5 minutes from McDonald’s and Starbucks, of Costa is on the same site.

Check in was great, swift, friendly and helpful.
We booked a table for 18.15, on arriving at said time we were told the chef would not be in the kitchen until 18.30 so the staff would take our drinks order then come back for our food order, took a while for our drinks to arrive!
The food was not overly hot, my meal was missing two condiments, the side salad was pathetic, literally a couple of lettuce leafs, a few bits of tomato and lots of red onion. The was the portion of fries was no better, probably about 12 fries, very poor value for money and the burger again was not overly hot with a few fries and no garnish.
Our waiter was very helpful and apologetic, he did not charge for the salad although we didn’t eat it!
Our room was very hot, even with the air con on the lowest setting which then meant the room was noisy and the thick quilt didn’t help! The windows are sealed units and don’t open? Understand the safety issue but if I was cut off from a fire exit in an emergency I would rather take my chances jumping out a second floor window than burn!! Perhaps a window hammer like they have on trains might be an option?

I will say that for a hotel I was completely shocked by the lack of facilities available to those that do not drive and who are also not familiar to the area. The hotel staff carry an uninterested attitude and are unwilling to help with any issues we had.

Breakfast had to be pre booked and we were unable to get the time requested. We were given 8:15 am. We arrived on time and had to wait until 8:45 until we got our breakfast considering we could see the food sitting at the counter.

A word of warning if you are travelling without a car this is not an easy area to travel in. Local Taxi drivers will try to scam you and charge you double for a journey, we stayed at the hotel for a wedding and some guest were being charged 20 pounds for a 1.5 mile ride. Whereas some would charge 10. all the taxi drivers are cash only and don't have meters and will not accept cards. (Which was very strange considering covid).

Upon our first morning I asked a staff member if they had an ATM to get cash out for a taxi as we were left with no options. The hotel has no atm available and we were told by hotel staff to walk along an (A) road at 40mph with no footpath to get to the nearest service station where they had an ATM. (This was also the wrong information as there was no ATM in the service station) I asked if the hotel were able to do cashback as we didn't feel safe doing this and they said they were unable to help us.

I did complain directly to a staff member about how unsafe their suggestion was and having no choice but to walk to the service station the information they gave us was wrong and the hotel should think about putting a cash machine in the hotel. And their disgusting response was to laugh and say "was there not an ATM there?. "

I would recommend only using taxis from Lewes taxis as they are metered and reliable and do take card payments if it wasn't for them we would of been literally stranded.

I'm deeply shocked by the level of care, attention and organisation of this hotel.

Why Do hotels put cheap mattress protectors on beds that reflect all your body heat back into your body and make you sweat? And they have zipped the mattress protector onto the bed so you cannot even take it off was like sleeping on a plastic sheet. The only thing I could do to get a decent sleep without pouring with sweat was to put a bath towel on the bed and sleep on top of that.

Add to the fact that you cannot control the air-conditioning from the bedroom you had to inform reception. There is a big problem! Because there are no telephones in the room, so you have to go online with your mobile phone find the telephone number of the hotel and phone the hotel which is ridiculous seeing as you there. Or you have to leave your room and walk to a reception and tell them. That's absolutely crazy! The windows don't open so you cannot get any fresh air, and it means that If you want to change the air condition temperature in the night, or turn it off, you have to keep phoning reception. I think that is daft.

Breakfast was okay but quite limited, overall I don't know why people rave about Premier Inn so highly, even though it was fairly new I was not really impressed. The bedrooms are very basic, and Bathroom Basic but good shower, And why are you so mean us to only give you one hand towel between two people unhygienic!

Parking was okay and other than usual corridor noises and doors banging it was quiet.

Good location and very clean room. Do wonder however why we were allocated a room a long distance from reception when there were obviously many empty room closer. Wide selection of food from the breakfast buffet and excellent covid precautions including all staff wearing masks and constantly sterilising all equipment that might have been handles by clients.

Having used Premier Inn for years finding this one at a perfect location for my trip and at a good price a bonus.
However clearly it needs some staff work as it’s brand new.

Think fresh coffee for breakfast you might be lucky, just hope they’ve not decided to service the machine during breakfast hours as you’ll wait an hour for a cup!
Indeed If you’ve paid up front for breakfast just check your bank statements chances are as in my case you’ve been charged again without your knowledge, refunds for which are a tricky task. That is assuming the chef has turned up, if not it’s cold stuff for you! It’s all health and safety I’m told we’re not allowed in the kitchen.

Now having said that as with all hospitality venues the staffing is hit and miss, despite the challenges the waitress who clearly was having a difficult shift was very accommodating and charming well done.

Premier Inn take notice despite COVID-19 challenges if your going to open and accept bookings it needs to function.

This is a fairly new premier inn. We have stayed a few times at this location before. This time a couple of issues…. The oddest one was the meal deal they do…we stayed for two nights, and wanted to take advantage of the meal deal. So the second day a breakfast and an evening meal both on one day.
We were told that you can’t do that and you can only have a meal deal if you eat in the evening on the first day and a breakfast on the second day… oddly we arrived later on in the evening of the first day and had eaten out… seems odd so we ate elsewhere, PREMIER INN ARE LOSING MONEY! Please explain why you can’t have both a breakfast and an evening meal on the same day!….
Secondly the rooms are generally well kept but the U.V. Light shows that the walls by the toilet are badly stained with urine and dirty. The walls are being scuffed by the single bed and the rooms are not being repaired etc. the robotic hoover also does not get into the sides or corners of the room.
It’s quite sad to see as this is a fairly new one.

Please reply to this feedback.we were in room 227 and did mention the problems and queries to staff… they just said to do it on a review.
On a positive note it is quiet and a large carpark but sadly it fills up with lorries and vans.
There is quite a lot a dry mud on the stairs, where customers come in with muddy boots…

Although the location is, as usual, weird (an industrial estate off a main road several miles out of town), the experience was great. Over the years I have had to stay in many places for business, looking for affordable but decent. This was way and above the best.
Comfortable bed, decent lighting, big enough desk space to work on, telly that functioned on all freeview channels and gave radio options, remote control that actually worked whilst still in bed.
Lovely clean and good sized bathroom, slip free bottom to the bath was weird to sit in, but great when showering.
Fantastic - friendly, welcolming, ensuring your needs anticipated and met without being intrusive.
Option for a reasonable cooked evening meal as well as great choices for breakfast. Request for soyal milk easily responded to and still within sell by date (often it isn't elsewhere!).
Booking options very reasonable - cheapest (very affordable) no refund, mid option (still budget priced) option to cancel up to 3 days ahead, most expensive option (not unreasaonable) full cancellation option

Liked it so much would consider coming back for pleasure! Thank you.

I think 8.30pm would be fine. Best to book when you arrive in reception, or if staying a few days in the mornings, you can't just turn up at the resturant without booking. We found some nights were busy with trades people who were working in the area, or business people who were attending meetings.
