We booked three nights at the Manor and ate in the hotel for two nights. The room in the Stables block was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The adjoining rooms can be a little noisy but not overly intrusive. Breakfast choice was excellent with a good range of cooked food to order - in any combination we asked for - nothing...

Beautiful building with plenty of parking in an excellent location but sadly too many detriments. The room we were allocated had seen better days and was in need of some TLC. Also, the TV in the room worked but was unwatchable due to intermittent interference interrupting whatever programme we tried to watch. As for the bathroom which had a shower...

Food was poor beef was tough. Should have been stuffed mushrooms to start they weren't stuffed at all it was two small mushrooms sprinkled with rocket leaves! Service was disorganised and slow. One of the bar men was rude and clueless! Very disappointing luckily we were with great company.

Booked a table here for a get together with friends. Perfect for what we needed. Lady serving us was great fun, recommending dishes as we were stuck on what to have. Atmosphere was lovely, restaurant is so beautiful. Food was excellent and well priced - definitely returning!

Friendly as ever, even prior to arrival. I received a phone call from the hotel whilst en route to check my estimated arrival time. Their customer service continues to maintain its high standards after many previous stays. Myself and my partner had a late evening meal, and the standard of the dishes we ordered were very high. The pasta was...

Stayed here for one night- thankfully it was just the one night! Nice looking hotel and convenient location, but very tired inside. The floor boards creaked every where, rooms dark and dingy. We stayed in the Stables, hoping this would be a little better than the old house, but could hear every word @ 6.30am from the neighbours! Bed was...

Really nice hotel right in the middle of Yeovil. Food looked good (though I didnt eat there in the evening but it was busy so a good sign) Breakfast was excellent so again a good pointer on quality. Rooms could do with a spruce up - a bit tired but everything was fully functional and the bed was comfy. Would...

Stayed 2 nights here on a very good deal. We enjoyed a nice hot meal in the restaurant (fish pie & lasagne) on the first night. We were served by Martin (head waiter) who did an excellent job of keeping us informed of what was going on. There was a wedding on but this did not spoil the stay (until...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Refurbished three years ago The Manor is located in the Somerset town of Yeovil with easy access via the A303. An Ideal base if visiting Yeovilton, Sherborne. Built in 1735 by local glover and merchant banker John Daniel, the house was known as Hendford House. After he passed away the house was rented out until 1927 when it became The Manor Hotel. A manor it may not be, but it is certainly elegant enough to be one. Its classical facade and porch are of warm, mellow stone, and to its long single wing, also of stone. It has a cheerful modern bar with scrubbed floorboards and pale beechwood furniture and fittings. Today the hotel is a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. You will be assured of a very warm welcome and great hospitality. Yeovil is the ideal spot from which to explore Hardy's Wessex. Nearby attractions include Glastonbury Abbey. ... more   less
