We followed the signs from the A303 (the pub is about one mile from the road) on New Year's Day. The first main dish on the Sunday lunch menu is roast beef - and my advice is not to look beyond this (though my wife enjoyed the salmon). I had two generous slices of delicious beef (I was told later...

Found ourselves here through their sign on the A 303. Arrived at 1145 looking for a quick sandwich lunch. Service was due to start at 1200 but the staff agreed to take our order straight away as we were in a hurry. The ham and mustard sandwich had big thick chunks of rustic ham just like the old days. The...

We booked a night here on a Groupon Getaway offer. We had planned a day shopping at Clark's Village which was approx 20mins away. The pub closes between 3.30 and 5.30 this time of year so we called in in the morning to collect our room key. On arrival, they didnt have our booking in the diary which was a...

The food was lovely & all the staff were chatty & friendly. The rooms were warm & the shower excellent. The premises are huge, excellent place for your Christmas Party.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay, my only complaint was that I could not stay any longer. All staff here are exceptional, they go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable, and that's what they certainly done. Breakfast was very good, and their evening meals are well.... mouth watering, choice from the a la carte menu...

This is a great pub and a good place to stay in an attractive, rural but easily accessible village. The room was fairly basic but had everything we needed. The atmosphere in the pub/restaurant is brilliant and all the staff are great, especially the owners who made us feel extremely welcome. There is a delightful beer garden and we loved...

I took my two children here for a Sunday dinner. I had roast lamb. The roast lamb was nice but probably not worth £12.95. The kids had sausage, chips & beans and Ham, Egg & chips respectively which they enjoyed. Staff were great. Good service and great with the children.

I've come here for two nights with my girlfriend from Saturday till Monday. I never normally show pictures of my food but my starter was the pigeon and quails eggs, coated in honey, balsamic. Absolutely outstanding, pigeon was cooked perfect and the quail eggs I didn't want them to finish. Then for the main course I had the chicken wrapped...

I stayed here as part of a Groupon deal. Our room was great and overlooked the beer garden. It was spacious and had all the facilities that you expect, tea/coffee making facilities, en suite, tv etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful and recommended places to visit as well as food on the menu. We started by having lunch...

A little out the way as I travelled from Wales but well worth the effort. The staff where very attentive without being obtrusive, the food was outstanding and although I had a 2 for 1 deal we had a choice of the full menu, which was all locally sourced and amazing There is a large garden to sit in with...
