Stayed for 1 night, after reading all the negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised . The room was spacious the bed was huge! Looked like it was newly decorated with lovely soft carpets. It was a shower over a bath. Hot water and enough towels provided. We didn't have a evening meal but stayed for breakfast. Full English provided plus...

We booked with booking .com which described the room as economy [no TV remote when we arrived] or something it still cost £105 a night with no breakfast. Small it was and a challenge to get there with the bags along corridors and up twisted staircases. It is a grand hotel but oh the room was in the attic on...

A small room with the towel rail hanging off the wall, a broken radiator valve with the heat full on, a non functioning TV, the worst soup I have ever been served, raw vegetables and barely drinkable house wine. A great disappointment. None of the reported faults were dealt with during our visit although a member of reception staff tried,...

We enjoyed a two night stay at The Palace in Buxton. The building is very impressive and stands on a hill overlooking the picturesque town of Buxton. The huge atrium greets you on entering the hotel. On further inspection the interior looks a little tired. The bedrooms are comfortable if a bit dated. The food was reasonable and the staff...

This was a Groupon offer which I believe may still be available on the hotel's web site. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with one hot evening buffet with wine and two full breakfasts included. Our room was just right. The staff were friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and tidy and very handy for the centre of Buxton itself. The...

This hotel could be really fabulous. If a few million pounds were invested in it. A wonderful building but in need of sympathetic upgrading. The decor is tired and in need of TLC. The room was clean and of a good size. The barhroom was basic and the plumbing noisy ! Not going well this is it ? The hotel...
