Friendly pub with really great pies: pastry crisp and light, fillings generous and savoury. Charming and atmospheric interior. This place really hit the spot after rather a chilly tour of the castle; but I'd like to come back on a summer's evening. Good value

Booked a two night stay on the basis of some rave reviews. Fantastic place to stay. Unique room with olde beams and flooring. Very warm despite being February. Great ensuite which resembles a walk in cupboard. Pub very busy on a Saturday night and music was very loud in our room but that's why we came! Breakfast is a delight...

Great little pub. Really friendly lots of locals, busy. Cozy find close to Chepstow Castle & museum - and easy walking distance to the rest of Chepstow albeit uphill all the way! Will return Live music over the weekend

Arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a busy bar (Rugby on the tv) and were shown to our room by a lovely guy who informed us of breakfast times and then left us to settle in. The room was small but to be expected in a 16th century property and had exposed beams, creaky floorboards and old furniture which added...

Lovely overnight stay here whilst in the area. Room on the small side, but expected from an older property the room was well decorated and had a welcoming feel to it. I had no issues with Noise from the pub below but it was a quiet Thursday so wouldn’t expect too much noise anyway. Breakfast in the morning was quick,...

If you want vintage rooms decorated accordingly, with friendly staff, great breakfast and a good pub vibe with plenty of good ales and ciders, this is it. For us this was a chance booking we wanted a reasonably priced room for 1 night and did not expect to be delighted. The pub is old so the floors in the rooms...

Had the Pie and Mash with Mushy Peas. Very tasty meal in a relaxing friendly atmosphere along with being a dog friendly pub too. Good value for money. Good location for exploring and taking in the view of the castle.

Popped in following a recommendation from a resident of Chepstow... what a cracking little pub. Landlord and staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The locals were happy to chat with me about the ales on offer. Always a sign of a good pub when they can keep visitors and locals happy. Real ales excellent, couple of different lagers.... and the...

We moved to Chepstow 5 years ago. The Tuns was a great pub with good funky music, but not anywhere near as popular as it is now. Rarely, it has managed to become massively more successful but has still retained that charm and funkiness that keeps me coming back. And they do good beer. Result.

Went to see Lewis craven here. Very good range of beer, cider. Land Lord welcoming. The pub gets very busy if a good band is playing. The pub is also veth handy if you are visiting the castle grounds in Chepstow. There is outside seating that face the castle walls too.
