Great venue. Dinner was OK. Breakfast was superb. Courses were good for time of year. Staff were attentive. Bar had a few issues with beer, but they struggled through. Shame the old course greens had been hollow tyned but such work had to be done .

Great hotel. We got an upgrade to a lakeside view room. What a way to start your day with such a view. Plenty of parking spots as well. I’d definitely be back here on my next trip to Wales. It’s also not too far from Cardiff, so I recommend folks to stay here

The hotel is obviously dated and the room and bathroom is adequate. Booked as a golf break so we’re allocated a golfers type of room. However all the staff where first class, friendly and professional and actual surpass the standard of facilities. The old course is definitely the better course providing challenging holes and lovely views. A mention of Mervyn the Marshall must be made who was excellent providing knowledge and care to make us feel very welcome. The restaurant was definitely under strain the first night, however an adjustment on the drinks bill was made with no question. The second night proved to be a much better experience both with menu choice and speed of service.

stayed the weekend on a deal inc Golf & dinner 2 nights. as per Marriott very good accommodation & amenities. Golf course, food , service all excellent. Stopped Friday & Saturday in a terrace house room very clean etc. Restaurant staff very helpful and attentive even if on the younger side but what can you expect in hospitality. Trophy Bar staff really helpful and friendly they are rushed off thier feet big shout out to Erin Reagan and Mali they were very busy on the Saturday with only 3 of them i had ordered food in the bar and waited 45 minutes!!! For a mediocre burger i went to the bar to chase my food Reagan said he would go and check for me when he came back he said my food would be with me shortly and offered me a free drink and was very apologetic that it took so long he made sure I was happy i couldn’t fault the staff service as I know it’s not there fault. All in all a really pleasant stay at this hotel

I want to preface this by saying, I am a Titanium Elite Member and have visited more than a hundred Marriott properties so far across the full range — from Ritz-Carltons to Courtyards. I can confidently say my stay at St Pierre had the most execrable service out of any Marriott property I stayed at so far. The service here corresponds to a 1 star property, not a 4 star one and by no means to a Delta Hotel (which the property is ostensibly migrating to). Since the moment we arrived, our stay was fraught with service let-downs — especially underwhelming, given that this was supposed to be a flawless stay as we booked the Honeymoon suite and we were looking for a relaxing vacation. 1) We went to the bar to have a drink and a snack and we had to wait for over 20 minutes to get it. The order was wrong (got chicken instead of the vegetarian cheese sandwich we ordered!) - we had to wait another 10 minutes just to flag the wrong dish (waiter/bartender name was Mali). After 30 minutes I went to check on the status of the replacement (as we got no updates) and my wrong chicken dish was sitting on the bar as I left it, everyone just shuffling around it. I tried unsuccessfully to attract Mali's attention as she only looked down and sideways, never at the customers. After another 10 minutes of standing helplessly at the bar I managed to attract another waiter's attention who sorted the wrong dish out. 2) A bit later in the day, we noticed the room was quiet cold and the heaters were not working. We tried calling the reception multiple times for over 20 minutes, but no one was answering. We had to walk over there and ask for some heaters to be brought — frontdesk claimed they were busy but before by fiancee arrived there were no customers, just the staff chatting. Note: later calls to reception were ringing, but were never answered. When heaters were finally brought, the maintenance staff joked that the hotel won't turn on the heaters due to the increasing gas prices. I didn't find that joke amusing. 3) When we went to breakfast on 19 September at 7am (breakfast is supposed to open at 6:30am), there was no one around, no ladle for the porridge, no one attending the omelette station. Quickly a member of staff appeared to ask for our room number and then disappeared just as quickly. When I finally managed to ask for someone to attend the omelette station, that member of staff was very abrupt asking "What? What do you want?" 4) Meanwhile, my fiancee wanted to use the restroom and was asked by the cleaning staff to use the handicapped toilet, as she just cleaned that one (!!). 5) The worst of letdowns was late check-out. Marriott offers a *guaranteed* 4pm late checkout for Titanium members (which we also requested and which was confirmed the day before). When we came to the frontdesk around 2pm and asked for our keys to be remade, Dipika (accompanied by Bethan) completely ignored our request and started checking us out. I reiterated the request and she explained checkout time for us is 2pm. I shared that Titanium members have a guaranteed 4pm late checkout. She claimed that is not correct and checkout time is 2pm. I reiterated and then Dipika replied that late checkout is not guaranteed and it is at their discretion. She also shared she promised another couple a 2:30pm checkin so she needed the room. I had to actually show Dipika the official Marriott page stating that 4pm late checkout is guaranteed. That finally led her to begrudgingly and unapologetically remake the keys. Arguing with a customer (especially on Marriott rules frontdesk staff is supposed to be aware of) is a BIG NO. Regardless of this discussion with front-desk and the "do not disturb" sign on the door, cleaning staff came anyway and started knocking on the door and having loud phone conversation (presumably with front-desk) in front of our door. It is worth mentioning I stayed at this hotel previously, 3 years ago. That time I had a confirmed suite upgrade (via Suite Night Awards), which was simply ignored by the hotel and given a room in the former "Stables". I am shocked to see the service became even worse than then and that the hotel is so completely unaware of Marriott policy, yet is rebranding as a "Delta Hotel".

Prior to booking this hotel I rang to confirm some details with reception. I am disabled with MS so limited in my mobility. Room was sold as 4* with a courtyard view however, the only view was if you left the door open. The bathroom which reception said was an overhead shower was just that but one had to step into a high bath to use it…needless to say there were no grab rails so I was unable to shower. Thankfully we only stayed one night. I was advised that everything was within easy reach of our room and within the hotel there were a few up and down steps in areas. These turned out to be more numerous than implied. Worn carpets with rough repairs made things a bit dodgey too. I looked forwards to a spa trip to used the pool, sauna and jacuzzi but again I was unable to use these facilities as two large stairways led to the changing rooms…thanks to staff I was allowed access by an easier route, which was fab. Sadly I once again hit another barrier…no walk in to the pool, just ladder access. Disappointment continued with our dining experience: Food was expensive and limited in choice. Veggie options minimal and uninspired. Food was assembled ping type…dessert a slice of defrosted cheesecake was sad. Not a hotel for disabled customers. In fact I cannot comprehend how ignorant they can be regarding their customers experience. Shame. This was booked for a birthday celebration. Overpriced for sure. ASA transitioning hotel from Bonvoy to Delta…our treat turned out to be an ordeal and a waste of money. The good staff is worth a mention. They are not responsible for poor management and a hotel that is long passed caring.

We stayed at the hotel on first appearances it is a lovely location with the golf course which makes it almost picturesque, we had dinner at the restaurant where the staff were ever so friendly and worked incredibly hard to ensure the guests were more than happy special note to the supervisor lady Gemma and Lindan who both went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant experience.

Got there and the tills didn’t work so couldn’t buy a drink, took 3 hours to serve 3 courses and was offering warm bottled beer at a fiver a bottle, just a complete disappointment, the young bar staff and restaurant staff are doing their best under extremely poor management. I’d avoid, came here 25 years ago and it was top draw, now it’s like Faulty Towers.

Start with the good bits. Breakfast was brilliant loads of options and good quality food. Great setting in a lovely old building. Coffee machine and the fridge were a nice touch. The bad bits. Room was very dated. Not what you expect for £220. No a/c which for the money and standard of hotel is shockingly poor. OK there were fans in the room but they only move warm air around. We had an upstairs room and the windows opened about 10cms. No ventilation at all. Furniture in the room was very very dates as was the decor. The floor was very very squeaky. Felt sorry for anyone downstairs. The bathroom was very poor. Shower one of the worst I've ever experienced. No pressure and either red hot or freezing cold. Would not stop here again as were very very disappointed by the room and totally not what we expected for the money we paid. The room could do with a complete revamp to bring it up to a decent standard . Had much better rooms for a lot less money. Very disappointed

We stayed here after our wedding in April and had such horrendous service that we were offered a complimentary stay for a second visit in order for the resort to correct all issues and to show that it was a one off catalogue of errors, We accepted this and returned to what should have been a superior balcony room with lake view only to be given a room with a shared terrace and an overgrown with trees and brackens view and tatty broken outdoor furniture. I went to reception to complain and to show our email confirming we were supposed to be in the same room type we had booked before and were told there are only 4 rooms in this category and we had one of them, when I pointed out we didn’t have a balcony but a shared terrace the Assistant manager explained unfortunately their website classes them all as the same under their website categories (basically false advertising as two of these rooms have very little view and no balcony, I asked to be moved and was told this was not possible as these rooms were fully booked. To compensate we were offered a complimentary evening meal, he offered free room service and gave us a number to dial from the room, we dialled said number to be greeted with a mobile messaging service that said voicemail full and you cannot leave a message. I rang reception back and was told he could offer us a reservation in the restaurant but unfortunately the only time available would be 9.30pm we had no other options but to accept this. When dining in the restaurant I can only imagine it could be compared to that of a butlins environment a noisy setting with groups of golfers and coach trips singing aloud and playing games. We were one of a few couples in the restaurant that couldn’t hold a conversation with each other without struggling to hear, the waitresses were embarrassed and kept apologising to us but did nothing to try and get order within the dining area. Our meals were served and the drinks were all warm when I mentioned this to the staff they replied and said we know others have complained bout this too. (Prosecco warm, hardly any stock of beers or ciders left available as apparently had ran out and soft drinks were all Luke warm) Then onto the pool facilities…. This can only be compared to a dated leisure centre. This certainly does not live up to the resort advertised and they certainly did not rectify the catalogue of errors we had after our wedding and infact managed to ruin another special occasion that was my birthday. We would never return to this resort and if you’re used to good service and plush facilities this isn’t the place for you either!
