Travelling on my own on the way to France with a 9 hr drive ahead of me, I decided to stay the night before my tunnel crossing. I arrived after 3 hrs on the motorway in 30 degree heat so not feeling great. Then there is was Pigeonwood House. Perched on the top of the escarpment with spectacular views over...

We stayed at the Pigeonwood for 3 nights and found Mary to be so friendly and helpful. She looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious, with an en-suite shower room with toiletries provided. The peace and quiet was a welcome advantage. The room has a fantastic view of the English...

Pigeonwood is a bit off the beaten track, but is a lovely, peaceful and very handy place to stay before catching Le Shuttle the next day. Only 10 minutes drive down the hill to the terminus! Mary is very welcoming and her breakfast is superb. The beds are extremely comfy with lovely bedlinen and the bedrooms enormous with everything you...

That's what I wrote in the Visitors' Book. My daughter and I stayed overnight after attending my grandson's concert at uni in Canterbury. We're from West London. In the morning my granddaughter, who lives in Folkestone, joined us for breakfast, before we all spent the day together at Howletts' Zoo. Mary even provided soya milk for my "non-dairy" daughter. The...

In the hills above Folkestone lies this lovely country home run by lovely host Mary. Rooms with views across undulating country side all the way to the channel. Fast wifi. Lovely breakfast in the stately dining room. Will come again!

Would be a bit hard to find if were not for the comprehensive directions sent with the booking confirmation. Few would believe there is this AONB on the escarpment behind Folkestone. Nice old farmhouse, generous accomodation, great breakfast and very peaceful. Would stay there again

My friend and I stayed at Pigeonwood House and were welcomed like family. Mary was a wonderful host, very helpful, had great advice for the (historically-themed) things I wanted to see, and provided a fabulous full breakfast in the morning. The room I had (with two single beds) was super-roomy and comfortable. Large en suite bath (took me a minute...

This is a lovely old home. The rooms are large and reasonably comfortable. The bathroom is small but the shower for me was too small and I am not a big person. The room did need a good dust but besides that it was a good place to stay. The owner is friendly. The views from the house over the...

Stayed here for 4 nights in order to explore National Trust properties locally. Such a lovely place to stay. Friendly and comfortable we could not have felt more welcomed. Amazing views from our room and a breakfast that set you up for a day's exploring. Cannot recommend too highly.
