Thinking back, I have never been presented with a worse meal than what I received on a visit to this place for a long time. If anyone thinks that totally obscuring a meal by smothering a beef sandwich with Bisto type gravy into extinction, with horrible tasting chips constitutes a meal they are sad, most of it was left. After...

If you're a tourist reading this, then you need to add this typical English pub on your list. The beer is excellent, views are awesome (better in summer i should think) and the hosts are more than welcoming. As an added bonus the food is also very, very good and great value. Two of us had the Turkish offering which...

Good beer(Black Sheep), poor service and poor food. Two of us had the mixed Turkish Kebab which consists of pitta bread, salad, grilled peppers&onion, rice topped with spicy chickpeas, various grilled meat and some sauces. The rice and chickpea topping was lovely. The half thin lamb chop was nice. The rest of the meats were bone dry and not very...

Having camped here in summer we decided to make a second visit as we love the moors for walking and exploring. We began the three day trip with a meal for six on the Sunday night. The food was good and the service was first class. Bev, one of the owners even moved some tables and chairs around so we...

Chosen primarily for it's location and very pleasantly surprised at the quality of room, bon homie of hosts, food and beer. Excellent & planning a return! We especially liked the Turkish section of the menu and Simon's skilful meat produce, created in-house.

My love of the moors was always there but to wake on a fine morning to look at the view from a high standard well equipped bedroom was a bonus, The breakfast was excellent and all at a very reasonable price.

Close to Pennine Way; a good stop for day two for south to north walkers.Recently refurbished rooms. Pleasant hosts, offering useful information and advice. Good bar and restaurant on site make this a good value, one-stop option

We came here with our 2 children and was hoping for a three course meal but as the service was so slow we only ended up having 2. The setting is good and there are toys for the children to play with. Our starters came and they were nice but they brought the children's main at the same time. This...
