Had a lovely stay here recently and the reviews are a good reflection of the quality of this b + b. Alison made me very welcome with a cup of tea and slice of lemon cake and offered me dinner for a very reasonable sum - beef casserole and a glass of rioja - very tasty. My room was comfortable...

We enjoyed our stay very much. What a great host Alison is. The food and accommodation are excellent. She looked after us very well. Always giving that bit extra. Calling taxi's, ironing shirts, another cup of tea? Hope to be back soon to stay again and to watch another "Midsummer Murder" with Alison.

In July, my husband, our toddler, my parents and I decided to stay in Luton between our flights and I came across Bakewell House. There's a reason why Bakewell House is so well-reviewed and beyond the scrumptious breakfasts and cosy rooms is Alison herself. Such a warm, hospitable and friendly lady who was always helpful and a pleasure to speak...

I agree with all of the reviews; Alison is a great host and has really looked after me when I've stayed. Breakfasts are fantastic, as...

“Lovely B'n'B and a most welcoming host in Alison. Being a long term occupier at Bakewell House she delivers not just a wonderful place to stay but a fantastic Breakfast and company.”

“Currently, you have a choice of a single or double room as far as arrangements go. I'm tall, so I preferred the double room (due to the extra leg room on the bed). Though the charge is a bit more, I found the sleep to be more restorative in the double.”
