A small family run hotel come bar and restaurant, situated at the beginning of the high street by the Ballater Bridge. My husband and I and our two small dogs had a brilliant holiday last week. We ate in the restaurant every night. The food including the breakfasts were superb. A fantastic find in a quaint little Scottish town. We only stopped in for dinner, but we for the clientele friendly and warm, the food beyond recommendable and the hospitality went above and beyond for us. Definitely go, even if it's just for a drink.

i had my 60th birthday party here on sat,we had the restaurant for the evening,the buffet was excellent prossec was very very nice,i would defo book a party here again staff were very attentive so cheers to fiona and alan and staff.

Stayed for 1 night for a wedding, nice greeting from lovely friendly staff it is very clean, the single room was a bit small the double was fine we had a meal late afternoon which was very very nice. Ballater is not a big place so easy walking to the village.

Small friendly independent hotel well located in the centre of Ballater . We had a nice clean room. The food in the bar was very good and the staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

We stayed at the Alexandra 31st jan for an overnight stay. Room was spotless.Fiona& team so very friendly & helpful had a lovely meal last night & breakfast was lovely. There had been a lot of snow was advised of a different route which helped.

We visited the Alexandra Hotel 29th January 2015 for an evening meal. The Hotel is spotless and the welcome from Fiona was very warm and as it turned out her knowledge and advice was invaluable. We had the 8oz sirloin steak and the haddock and chips and I can honestly say that the meals were superb and very good value.... More

Nine of us had an excellent meal in the restaurant at the end of October on the last night of our holiday .
