Beautiful setting, lovely restaurant and bar - really good atmosphere - however the bedroom was liking walking into an austin powers movie - every wall in bedroom, hallway and bathroom was magnolia and the wallpaper! really it isnt 1970. It wouldnt take much to turn this hotel around. The bar and restaurant look spot on. The noise was the worst...

I took my mum for a meal to celebrate her 84th birthday and it was superb. The place was busy which was great, the food was excellent and the service faultless. We really couldn't have asked for more !

Absolutely no idea how this place gets a 4 star rating. It might not even scrap a 3 if I was awarding the stars. I was on a business trip, so I don't know how much my room (106) cost, but value for money on this occasion wasn't the issue for me. When I arrived there was an extremely loud...

Went to dinner with friends and were seated in the back room - which was great. Front room is also a bar so a little noisy. Very good service, friendly but not intrusive and decent range of food on order. We had two bottles of wine and cocktails so ended up paying £60 a head including gratuity but well worth...

Having stayed previously for a New Years party some years ago we decided to stay over with family for a weekend in Bedford. Comfortable room with all the bits, I feel if they want to improve then take a look at the quality of bedding and bathrooms at any Hotel Du Vin hotel. If they invested in this area the...

I Left feeling that the embankment kitchen is greedy and mean. I ordered avocado on sourdough toast with a couple of sides. #underwhelming Sourdough was still bread Avocado was a light smearing of green Eggs were small, hard and vinegary Black pudding was paper thin Sausage was a chipolata Premium price, Reasonable quality Minimal quantity That said, lovely setting and...

Brunch with friends on New Year's Day. Great buzzing atmosphere (we had booked which was just as well as it filled up pretty quickly). Delicious food, mashed avocado on sourdough toast, yummy. My friends was just as tasty. A very nice Bloody Mary rounded off the meal, and my one gripe is that for the price it could have included...

Very good service, great ambience and excellent food. Highly recommended but book early as it gets busy. (for good reason!). They even serve Yorkshire Tea and a very nice mini cheese and crackers which finish off a good meal very well for an oldie like me.

Pricey for a pub. Nice atmosphere. Offered a poor table for dinner and ended up at the bar. Good view of the river so not too bad. Overall nice place to go as a couple. Drinks were expensive for the location, £10 for a beer and small wine.......but I did come from up North. Service at the bar was good.

The hotel is right on the river a few minutes walk into the town, however the par and restaurant mean you don't really hVe to venture out . The rooms are roomy with large ceilings with nice fixtures and fittings. The food was very good and the service of the staff too. My only complaint is the parking not enough...
