Certificate of Excellence
The Embankment has 20 en-suite B&B rooms, including doubles with king-size beds, twins and family rooms. Rooms 101, 102, 103 and 201 all have spectacular views over the Embankment and the River Great Ouse and are perfect for a special occasion. We also have a fully wheelchair accessible twin room on the ground floor in an adjoining Victorian cottage. All the rooms have high-quality linen & toiletries and individual touches such as antique gilt-framed mirrors, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi access and tea and coffee making facilities. The Embankment is very popular with business travellers who are looking for a more friendly and convivial place to stay than one of the big chains. The Embankment is frequently used by people living in and around the town, who book rooms for friends and family when they are hosting special occasions, in the knowledge that their nearest and dearest will be well looked after.

This hotel has a great location, is clean / comfortable, has friendly staff, the breakfast was excellent and great value for money. However that doesn't really matter if you have to set your alarm for 7:30 to go and move your car. Defeated the whole point of me booking a

HI Andy_EastLeake1908 Thank you so much for taking the time to post this review in regards to your recent stay with us. We are delighted to hear that you for the most part enjoyed your stay with us and I will be sure to pass your lovely comments onto the rest of the team. In regards to the parking I am very sorry to hear that you could not find a space in our car park and for this we send our sincerest apologies . The Embankment is a very old building and the car park is small to match what was need at the time of its construction. If I could extend it I would but this is not at all a possibility. We do try very hard to maximise the usage of the car park and to help ensure that our guests stay is never effected. I am very sorry that on this occasion this was not addressed and I will be sure to speak with my team to ensure that they are making sure this happens every time. We do not allow any team to park in the car park and we make sure that the car park is monitored and only used by hotel guests and patrons to the bar and eatery. If a hotel guest mentions that they are having problems parking then we would always see if we could assist or pay for parking in alternative locations close to the pub. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope that this does not deter your from future visits to the Embankment Many thanks Gemma and the team

I booked this hotel to stay over before a meeting in Bedford the next day. The cost was £75 CHEAPER than the premier inn. As I was driving to the hotel I seen that it is actually on the embankment, beautiful location.. As soon as I arrive I went tho the reception desk which is

After a night at the Embankment I can report that the bedrooms are spot on for the money, you won’t pay a ridiculous fortune, you’ll get value, you won’t get Ritz style comfort but you’ll have a perfectly adequate place to put your head down. The restaurant and bar are very

Were visiting family in Bedford. This place is a nice level walk along the Embankment to my brother's house. Large clean room, very nice breakfast. Parking is a pain though. Appreciate they have limited spaces at the back & side, but despite answer to someone else's comment on

HI hampshiregrrl Wow thank you so much for taking the time to post this great review about your recent stay with us at the embankment, we delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We are very sorry that you felt that reception was not interested in the parking and I will be sure to relay this as this is simply not the case. We do appreciate that the parking can sometimes be a little tight and if we could gain anymore parking spaces then we would but unfortunalty this is not the case. We are currently in talks with the council to see if we can be provided with resident permits to allow hotel guests to park on the road for free... so watch this space. Many thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back soon Gemma and the Team

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night (last night). What a dreadful experience. My room (106) was on the first floor and unbelievably noisy. The constant crashes and banging coming from the kitchen area below somewhere sounded like I was housed above a panel beaters. This went on

Hi rrw77 Thank you for taking the time to write this review and we are very truly sorry that you found your stay horrendous On the evening you stayed we were having our yearly kitchen induction fan maintenance. We are extremely sorry that you were not made aware of this but in previous years we have never had complaints but I will take this up with the maintenance company that we used. As we were full we could not have moved your room and I am again very sorry for this and had you mentioned something on checkout then our reservations manager would have been more than happy to have not charged you for your stay. I have asked kirsty to contact you directly to arrange a full refund for your stay Many thanks and apologies again Gemma and the Team
