We stopped here on the day we finished walking the Cumbria Way. The friendly owners allowed us to leave our car there during the week we were walking. The B&B is a 10 minute walk (maximum) from the city centre and is welcoming and comfortable. A great place to stay in Carlisle.

However, the room we stayed in was particularly small which meant we were climbing over our suitcase all the time. It was twin room, but would probably be better with one single or small double bed. When a room is as wide as it...

I stayed at Abberley house for three nights to see Carlisle and to take a train journey to Settle. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and for £35 per night, B&B is good value for a single room with double bed. The only drawback was being next to the main road. Abberley house is fairly convenient for the City centre...

Stayed Feb 2015 - Called from Cockermouth at 6pm and was given comprehensive and accurate directions from a friendly voice at the end of the phone. We arrived to a welcoming smile and were given the usual information regarding breakfast etc.. The room was adequate but with not much room for cases and bags, however we were only there for...

Lovely owners, very helpful. Provided me with the correct products to enable me to have a hearty breakfast, which was needed when trying to complete Hadrian's Wall walk. Lovely rooms, little short on room to open cases and a tiny shower room but perfectly adequate for a one night stay. Evening meals aren't provided but there are plenty of restaurants...

The wedded pair that runs this B&B is very polite and friendly and they give their best so that you really can feel comfortable. The room was very smart. The toilet was wiped, the bedsheets were unused and scented freshly. The appearence of the room was very cosy. You can watch tv an you can enjoy tee, coffee and cakes...
